*** Elden Ring ***

I have absolutely no idea why hardcore pc gamers haven't allocated some of their retarded gpu budgets to a next gen console.

Most pc releases end up with people whining on here while the console forum has people discussing gameplay. Lol.

while playing the Ps4 release cos it runs better

running fine here cept for the odd stutter, ryzen 3600, radeon 5700, 16 gig ddr4.

just beat some stupid boss at storm foot catacombs with the starter club, i went wretched and need a few more strength points to use a sword i found, really enjoying it so far except the odd stutter.

it says on steam that they know the cause of the stuttering and are gonna patch it.

Yeah, he said that like consoles run it perfectly:p

The only way to get proper performance is to run the PS4 version on the PS5 so hardly an achievement, lol.

I'll undoubtedly get a PS5 at some point but not now.
I should be able to run Elden Ring comfortably and I hope they'll fix this farce sooner than later.

Another spot on review from Mack, what a travesty they can't even sort the menus or controls out lol
+1 all the problems Mack had I had too. Come on developers is it really that hard to make sure the controllers work? Do they even playtest?
Did any of the "reviewers" not have these problems or do they get a finished copy of the game rather than the beta version we get.

One thing which is bugging me that I cant find a way to stop , is that it seems to try and autocentre the camera behind you when you move forward, a bit like it does in some MMOs. Now I like to run forward and aimlook around me but when I do that the camera judders and tries to recentre itself behind me. I'm not doing a very good job of explaining myself but the gist of it is that I want my camera to be independent of my movement, so that I can run along whilst keeping my camera pointing at 90 degrees to my running path.

Or in laymans terms, I want to be able to run along and keep my camera looking sideways. Sometimes MMOs have this same issue but have a camera option to not force the camera back to its default position but cant see a similar option here

Hard to say, I mean I've had not a single one of the problems Mack had so I guess that means I too got the finished copy :)

This is annoying me also, looking around while moving and it keeps trying to autocentre behind you. Not a smooth experience!

so Ive now seen a few people saying on forums and reddit that they have lost ark and elden ring won't play due to a conflict with the 2 games different versions of "Easy anti-cheat". Also the pirate version runs well but the bought version is terrible. This suggests to me that its the easy anti cheat that is causing the performance problems

I could see a logic to that yeah, except I have lost ark and elden ring. Good reasoning though but doesnt seem to be the case always so I'm guessing it must be something else

Interesting, once I have tried it, if I have issues I may try the Alt version till it's patched.

So I've played 2 hours now. I am getting stutters and FPS dips...for the most part it's staying between 50-60fps though. I think my settings are mostly on the high option, except for DOF and motion blur, both of which I've turned off.

I did annoyingly get one hard freeze which made me have to restart my PC, and I'm playing on a controller (DualShock 4), but all my prompts have Xbox buttons, which is really quite annoying.

I am such a noob at this game. Been getting hammered by Bloodhound Knight Darriwill all night cause I just couldn't seem to dodge his attacks. Anyways it turns out I had heavy load which was what was making my rolls poo. Unequipped a couple of things and it was a lot easier. Still tough but it wasn't all that bad once I'd learned the mechanics.

I'm definitely getting old though. It's taking me so long to learn the patterns. :(

The weird thing to me is that I actually didnt like Dark Souls (never tried Sekiro) but am really enjoying this

Sekiro is amazing, completely different combat experience. Dark Souls is good too but I'm definitely a Sekiro/Bloodborne guy a lot more.

As to Elden Ring, I could see myself losing a lot of hours in this game even though it definitely feels like just open-world souls, but this has been literally the worst gaming experience I've had in like two years.

Game crashed like a minute after I launched it the last time and the performance is so atrocious it's not even funny. I can't focus on fighting bosses because it's almost constant sub-60 and stuttering, then speeding back up etc.

I'm really miffed, Sekiro ran perfectly. Can't believe I wasted so much money and can't even refund.
Game's great when it works.

Just downed Godrick with a npc quest summon. Took many attempts but my god did it feel good when that final blow landed!

Certainly an odd feeling when you get to the open world given how these games have always been, almost feels a little daunting in a way. I'm excited to get stuck in tomorrow, atmosphere feels like it's there already.

Stutter is there too though, seems to kick me down to around 45-48 fps briefly, a minor annoyance so far, but one I hope they can quickly fix.

As for the open world, I was a little concerned. But having just finished clearing out Godricks Castle (which is HUGE btw), I'm excited for the slower less tense pace of the outside world again.

Absolute masterpiece this game.

I've never played any of the other games and I'm just getting started with this. I went with a Samurai to start with, what classes are people playing?

Also getting 60fps, no stutter at 4k max settings.

Also what's this 'Touch Bloodstain' all about?
