*** Elden Ring ***

I've never played any of the other games and I'm just getting started with this. I went with a Samurai to start with, what classes are people playing?

Also getting 60fps, no stutter at 4k max settings.

Also what's this 'Touch Bloodstain' all about?

it's meant to show you how that player died. Hasnt been working for me though.

yeah there's going to be people disappointed with the gameplay (ignoring performance issue) just because it's more like Skyrim or something, the game expects you to really explore and find upgrades instead of just beelinging the bosses

A few streamers have quit in pretty funny ways

the blood stain is from another player dying and if you touch it it should show you a ghost image of how they died, seems to be broken at the moment though lol

i started with wretched so gave my self a hard start, only had a basic club and 10 in every stat, im pumping points into vigor endurance and strength atm :)

Loving it. Just up my street, open world Dark Souls. A few frame drops here and there, but otherwise stable 60 frames per second.

OK I don't get this game. Too damned hard, dying all the time, no quests to tell you where to go. Think this might be a refund job.

any souls game doesnt tell you where to go, stick with it it gets rewarding, when i first got demons souls a long while ago i spent the whole first night dying constant in the first place lol

U follow grace she tells u where to go.. and its open world u go or do what u want.. no hand holding on these games

Yeah its not about quest markers etc. Normally that irritates me as generally like guidance, but in Dark Souls it just works without. Its all about the exploring and finding your way.

Quite good so far. :D Seems to run "ok", mostly hitting 60fps, 3080 @ 1440p, almost everything maxed. But there are the aforementioned small glitches where it seems to drop briefly down to 45 fps ish. Strange really because it doesnt appear that graphically intense.

Question....does smashing boxes/crates etc ever "drop" items?

Which ironically probably explains why I like it more than Dark Souls :)

When you rest at the sites of grace, check your map, it sort of points in the general direction you need to go if you don't want to just explore.

Fired it up to see if I was going to have issues, alas I did. set at 1440p, 3090 was not even taxed hard typically 50%-60% load or so max outside and most CPU taking it easy, but glitched every few mins with dips down in fps. Suppose would not feel it if I had access to normal G-sync OLED.

Still looks like a fun game in a few patch's and once on OLED again for G-Sync and HDR. Now wonder when RT patch may come out :D

Exploration is just a joy in this, it feels like when you find that secret path that unveils a whole new area/shortcut, except never-ending at the moment. I've haven't even achieved anything in the last couple of hours but have been a crazy mini adventure.

I went exploring a forest but ended up underground in a pretty stunning area, it's beyond my current level but I manged to see a boss down there. It looks like it's a whole other area to explore with spots on the overworld leading down there. From there I went back to the surface and after a bit more wondering about I found a portal that took me all the way to the top right of my current map. The landscape is slightly nightmarish and the enemies are way beyond my capability, I've decided to run the whole way back to mark my map a little more but Jesus some of the sights/stuff I'm running into along the way

I sit at max 70% usage on my 2070S and like 50-55% usage on my old 4790k, that's at 1440p. Stutters and stays sub-60 most of the time, 50-58fps with drops into 40s. Feels terrible.

Breath of the Dark Souls is pretty great but I don't want to ruin it for myself playing like that.

Not that I’ve seen, the skulls do though!

woot just took down that big margit the fell omen boss, lone wolf ashes really helped plus the npc summon :D

such a relief to take down a big boss, it was so dang close, no other games are as satisfying as soulsbourne/elden :)

Love it so far, just reached 10 hours played and I've still done so little and seen so little. The world design is gorgeous, I'm constantly seeing things on the horizon and thinking whats that over there and heading off to investigate. Have found loads of little caves and mini "dungeons" and the exploration is done so well that every time I find a place like that I feel like I'm the only person who knows about it. Made it to level 5 now, got to sleep, very much looking forward to continuing tomorrow :)

Still havent had any performance issues and I'm even starting to get to grips with the camera trying to autocentre when I aimlook around me while moving (though I would still prefer them to change that). I do find the inventory system somewhat clunky, I seem to have to jump through a lot of hoops just to put an item in one of my pouch slots and I'd still like a way to disable the player messages but got to say that irrespective of that, thoroughly enjoying it. Hopefully they can fix the issues some people are having quickly.
