Exploring Siofra River atm. Very nice area.

I'm a little disappointed with armour so far... I'm 14 hours in and I'm still wearing all starting gear. Barely picked anything up. Where are all of the full sets you can pick up?!

I got a full set off the guards just outside of the starting area with the red and green tabards, I got another full set off the soldier guys with the british ww1 style helmets I got another full set off the knight guys with the lances. All of that was just in the "starting area"

Mind you, I'm 30 hours played and havent even headed to stormveil yet :)

Ok performance issues for my son in this title. He has been waiting for it for a good while and now that it is here, it runs like crap on his machine

Now from what I've read it seems to run like crap on just about everything, but exceptionally crap on my sons machine.

His specs.

GA-AX370 Gaming 3 board, AMD 2600 non X, 16 GB ram and a 3060Ti.
1080p twin 27" 144Hz freesync monitors.

Now I know his CPU is a bit lacking, would a 3800x (for £230) be a decent step for this title, or is it a waste of cash to step up without going the whole hog and changing out the board as well.

Also make sure that you have shader precaching set in Steam, can make quite a difference with stuttering. Although it supposedly doesnt work for directx games, I've heard many people saying that they notice a difference in games when its on. Though could be placebo I guess.

Is this something that is automatically enabled on the GPU side on AMD cards? Could not seem to find it.

Thanks guys I have explored a few more caves now, I had anyway tbh, and I've got a few bits but I don't seem to be able to find much in terms of armour. I don't have anything better than starting armour atm though.

I'm thinking of Souls games. There would be, full sets on bodies you found, when killing invaders etc.

Hoping to find something decent soon!

@bru Does it run bad all the time, like low framerate or is it stuttering more?

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/amd-...hz-socket-am4-processor-retail-cp-3cc-am.html 5600X here for £199 (Pre order)

I went from a 2700x to 5600X and IMO it was a good shout, can make a little back selling the old CPU. Is the 16GB RAM Dual Channel?

Board only takes a 3000 series maximum. yes the mem is dual channel, I will have to question him more on what issues he has with the performance other than it runs like crap.

@bru also make sure it's on the latest nvidia drivers and then try these steps

Cheers I will get him to try these out.

Also I will get him to try out the shader precacheing thing in steam,

Cheers @Tombstone

I will get him to try it and get back to you all.

omg that poor huge golem you can get teleported to

He staggers with 2 heavy attacks, perma stagger, crit

OK Kaiden sellsword summon is basically easy mode!

I just found some kind of assassin boss(if you could call it a boss), summoned the Kaiden sellsword and he ran at it and took about 3/4 of its health in one hit.

Also very happy I've found the uchigatana. My go to weapon in my first Dark Souls playthrough and fav weapon in the series.

Just farmed 2 great scythes and 2 executioner great axes... That was not fun, soooooo many runs to get them. But it's worth it :D

The extra gear upgrades really showed last night, I hit level 50 and finally went through Stormveil. I absolutely annihilated Godrick on the first go, the fight lasted no more than a minute and was pretty much over in 3-4 full duel wield combos. I might stick around there for a little while and co-op other people through it, I know he's been touted as being pretty difficult but I was obviously over geared for the occasion.

It makes me wonder about how much of the game you could conceivably clear without ever hitting the main story bosses, the amount of the map I was able to explore before even going to Stormveil was pretty huge. It should make additional playthroughs really interesting if you wanted to rush for certain items.

yeah DS 1 & 2 you could get quite a lot of stuff without hitting any hard bosses, can't remember about DS 3 beginning
