*** Elden Ring ***

I don’t want to finish, I am deliberately taking my time and trying to explore everywhere, I reckon I could make my play through last a couple of hundred hours.

Sams here, I am checking out literally every nook and cranny, every square metre of the game world. I am currently on 182 hours played (albeit on 3 characters) and I still havent even reached the capital yet, I've only just reached the Altus plateau. :)

I've finished the game multiple times now, got 40/42 achievements (still need to do Fia's quest line and the complete all achievements achievement) my current build is really have a tough time vs the last boss, the build relies on status ailments, yet the boss is immune to them all. I could just respec and 3 shot him but that would be kinda lame.
When you start a new build, are you staring a new journey (New Game+) or creating a new character? Almost finished myself and wondering what I should do, pros, cons etc.

I'd been hoping for Sekiro DLC buy it never happened.

Bloodborne DLC was sooo good that it's hard to believe they decided not to make any for Sekiro.

Even DS3, which wasn't that amazing overall, got great DLC.

Wondering how this'll fare, though they might not make any either since the base game is so big.

Apart from a Witcher 3 style Blood & Wine type expansion with a completely new area to explore with a story etc I can't quite see what else they could do besides adding some new quest lines into the existing world.

I'd rather all resources/focus went on building Elden Ring 2 at this point and refining this game through patches/updates.

I've finished the game on PS5 and I'm looking forward to actually playing through this on a combination of Steam Deck/PC now. I played through the original Dark Souls on Switch so I'm sure I'll get used to this too.

This is the first souls game I have put much time in. It was tricky at 1st but once I got the hang of things (using a pad instead of mouse and keyboard felt alien at first) I was doing fine and burning through the game. Then I met Malenia Goddess of rot and she had me stumped for days until finaly I emerged victorious. Felt great to finally kill her. And then I get to the final boss and a week later I am still at it.

Still, despite it being annoying it's refreshing playing something difficult and not hand-holding as many other games are or I'd have finished this game a lot sooner.

What build did you use in the end?

I decided to have another run at her last night. Cue around 15 deaths and much frustration. I got really, really close two or three times. Once I was maybe one, maybe two hits away, but she instakilled me next move. I think this is the hardest boss I have ever faced in any game. Ever. There's still a little way to go for her to go to catch up with my numver of deaths to Fume Knight, but with Fumey I consistently felt I was making progress and getting better every time. This boss just feels unfair, and like there's too much RNG. Some runs are well into her health pool and feeling good, at least for a while. Some see me dead inside 30 seconds.

If she decides to spam that damn flurry move of hers it's pretty much run over. I can live through it if I'm not too close, but the wind up isn't that big, it's start-up frames are not that different from another, less dangerous attack, and unless I am perfectly on point with running and dodging it's death. Plus the other OHKO moves - how many does she even have? Four? Five? Oh, and the health regen. That is just obnoxious on top of her already substantial HPs, two phases and her obsecene damage and speed. Especially as it still happens even if you block.

I am thinking of leaving her to the very end and respeccing. I don't think my Str/Int build is going to cut it.

I've just gone through. Altus Plateau and it looks like I've entered the capital by the back entrance. I've had 3 great moments that only Souls games give you. Since reaching the capital I have killed

margitt again and 3 tree sentinels without resting

... Thinking back to the beginning of the game I would laugh if you told me that!

One thing I'll say though, and I don't usually complain about this kind of thing, but Mimic Tear is way OP.

Enjoying this quite a lot, I followed the main quest for a short while but now I'm just wandering about Limgrave discovering stuff. Also killed that damn Tree Sentinel, what a *******, the tackle caught me by surprise:p

Found a few NPCs and started some questlines, Alexander is a From touch, all right:D

Those dungeons with the chariots that go round on a track. I don't care what loot is in them or anything, I just find them tedious tbh. They aren't hard or challenging. Just annoying!

Still getting some long micro stutters when playing this game. Are you guys just not getting them or just happy to look past the glitches?

Still waiting for a fix

Couple of areas are worse than others. The early section fighting the Tree Centinel was horrific. Thankfully most of my other fights have been unaffected.
