Elden Ring

Found a whole underground section I never found in the first playthrough. In the Sofria river there theres an offshoot that takes you to a Gargoyle boss but last playthrough I beat him and thought that was it. Turns out I missed a coffin that takes you somewhere else!

i missed that too…I just left after the deer fight…I also didn’t know pressing R3 changed the map. And also I had to Google to find out how to dismount the horse quickly by L3 after seeing people do it.

Yeah done that part. What’s more fun than a gargoyle boss? Two gargoyle bosses! Used to be easy mode to get them to jump back off the waterfall for cheese death. But they patched it.

Also, if you are fed up of jumping off your horse when you are fighting, consider re-binding the crouch/jump off horse from L3 to “up” on the d pad. You can then either leave the spell change function unbound if you don’t use magic or bind it to L3.

No more accidentally dismounting Torrent (or couching whilst you are trying to run away!!).

Works for me anyway :)

Is the Gargoyle bosses after the 1st Ancient Deer fight? I just went back but can't see a coffin.

After you beat both the gargoyles theres a stone coffin over one side of the room you can climb in.

I don’t think i found that yet. I went down Anisel River cave or something, full of ants…died just before the 2nd grace after 20mins and cba to do that again tonight lol. I feel like this game will take me ages to finish. I hate how i get killed so quickly, literally 3 hits and my Vigor is at 32 now.

muscle memory is screwing me up now lol

i was playing nioh 2 remastered on the ps5, got up to second boss and now my sharp reflexes are dulled a bit on elden ring, pressing wrong buttons to do stuff etc, on the plus side elden ring is nice and slow now :p

Its the Sofria(?) river not Ainsel. Its the area where you need to light the columns and theres loads of bull people walking about.

Coffin goes to deeproot

A lot of people miss the underground areas because they are all optional, people also miss Haligree

I'm bored now having done almost everything there is, I've finished the game 3 times and reached level 291

My first playthrough took 135 hours, 2nd one took 15 hours and 3rd 10 hours

Deeproot. That's it, I couldn't remember the name! Wrapped that section up anyway but apparently I missed that and a whole underground section in the capital first time round so not only do I get to enjoy the game again second time round, I get to play some new content as well. I did manage to find and finish the Haligtree first time round though.

After the Godskin Duo I have been looting the rest of Crumbling Faram, picked up some nice bits.

Now stuck on Maliketh, his first phase is easy, bit of Scarlot Rot and the Mimic or Tiche, but the second phase is much harder!

Also found a catacomb in the mountaintop with undead/ghost enemies which can't be killed which is interesting!

Doesn’t holy damage kill undead foes? Could try that.

I've just started on Xbox. Really liking the dynamics of it. Must more forgiving than I remember Demon's Souls being. Feel free to add me for multiplayer (bloodiedathame). Usually on from about 10pm for a few hours.

Finally found a SSS (7) and got my Carian Regal Scepter to +10. Shortly after defeated Mohg (yay) and so good to be able to one-shot loads of wandering enemies that usually took 2/3 dingleberries.

Got a bit waylayed under the capital for a few hours yesterday so lost where I am and where I'm going! Reached the end of one of the catacombs and there was just 2 regular enemies, no boss and no real reward? Thought that was a bit weird.

Are you certain it was the end? Normally you have to activate a lever to unlock the boss door. Some catacombs use teleporters and there’s actually two catacombs.

However there is one catacomb under the capital where it is used to open a short cut of sorts. However there are two secret walls within, one after the other.

Also, in some catacombs you can’t actually finish them properly without going through secret walls.

In most circumstances, though, a catacomb will have a boss. But sometimes they can be harder to get to.

I had to pull a lever which opened one of those tall, double doors back towards the beginning. All it had in it was two of those club-wielding, fire-breathing dudes that are in the proving grounds, also beneath the capital.

I believe it was called the Leyland Catacombs or something?
