Elden Ring

I had to pull a lever which opened one of those tall, double doors back towards the beginning. All it had in it was two of those club-wielding, fire-breathing dudes that are in the proving grounds, also beneath the capital.

I believe it was called the Leyland Catacombs or something?

If it’s Leyndell catacombs they definitely have a boss and this is a teleport dungeon where things are almost identical. But you are in a different area. Can be a right pain in the butt.

Yeah that's the one. Seems like I need to revisit!

Also be aware that fire columns can be part of the puzzle also.

If you strike them they go up or down. Sometimes you have to stand on top to use them like a lift. Others you can’t get on top of them but they move to a position you need them to be in for a later part of the catacomb.

For Leyndell catacombs specifically, pay attention to the central chamber with a sarcophagus surrounded by water - it will help you understand which ‘version’ of the catacomb you are in. As do the bodies of the imps you kill.

Yeah I used the fire column as a lift. Maybe I only did 2 of the 3 floors.

Aaah, stuck against Maliketh :( any tips?

Pewdiepie just posted a no death run on YT, he beat Maliketh without taking a single hit and no cheese. There are lots of tips on that run, the video is about 45min long and obviously, lots of spoilers. He only went for a couple of weapons though and essential bits and pieces like the Moonveil and skipped all optional bosses.

Can someone tell me where this Grace is?

I went there, fought the bear, looked all around and still can’t find it. Walked around for 20mins, then went up the cliff to the top as well.

Go in the lake, and follow it around a bit, there is a opening and it is like underground kind of thing. It a Village, where you find the first part of the medallion to open up the haligtree. :)

Finally after over 100 attempts i managed to kill the Draconic tree sentinel and i did have to cheese it a bit. I never had this much trouble with almost any other of the boss's i have killed so far barring the godskins whom i still can't beat.

The Duo?

Sleeping arrows, if you fire like 4 arrows into the fat guy you can then hit him a few times before he wakes again.

What area is the Haligree tree in? I've seen people say they missed it entirely, but I don't know if it's just ahead of where I'm at.
very top of the map, you get to it after the Capitol but you need two pieces of a secret medallion to enter the hidden path to the Haligtree from the Grand lift of Rold

I am such a small way into this game (still in Limgrave although I think I'm pretty much there with it now), but am absolutely blown away by it. I usually play pretty linear games for the storyline, and most open world games really don't appeal, because they essentially descend into "go over there, get / kill that, come back and do more". The fact that this game is so much more open gives it so much more variety. I also don't generally enjoy games which are too challenging, as you can't progress the story, but the challenges in this game are so clearly defined and "fair", that you know it's about learning and improving how you play, and that once you do you'll surpass them, so there's a real sense of achievement.
