Electric Toothbrush

Since the goal of not spitting is to ensure a layer fluoride coats the teeth (from the toothpaste or mouthwash in lower quantities), I prefer to rinse my mouth and then apply fresh toothpaste. The second go round is a quick brush less than 30 seconds.

I'd contend that if you've just had water in your mouth that would hinder both toothpaste remaining on teeth, and even effective brushing, as toothpaste is immediately being distributed to non-tooth areas
... maybe not if you use more than a pea sized quantity, like children would do, if they didn't have to buy it.

The only time most people’s mouths are completely dry is after waking up. Otherwise your mouth will be coated in saliva, which as far as I am aware doesn’t contain any chemicals that help toothpaste to remain in the mouth. I’m also pretty sure during the brushing process you produce a lot more saliva.

Post office apologized that package was open when they received it, I've only got 7 of the brush heads instead of 8. They are £4.78 each can't be arsed to complain to Amazon.

Go on live chat and complain, 99% sure they will appologise and refund you and say keep the old ones. Ive have the same thing happen with other items and this is always the outcome, amazon make millions of pounds a day they dont care about a few quid but customer care is very important to them.
 
I prefer to use a firm REACH toothbrush for the tops of molars (big surface area more thorough clean)

& basic electric Oral b with sensitive clean heads for of the remaining surfaces (2 passes)

Will give the no rinse a try but I have no issues with the above method and have not seen dentist in 6 years (his last word of advice was to get the standard no nonsense electric toothbrush :))

Yes dental hygienist said its not doing the job properly so get an electric she didn't have any problem with the teeth after that she recommended Oral B 2 2500 can't seem to buy them now

Not a single dentist would take me on in my town, beit NHS or private so in the end went with one near work that everyone uses then claimed off works dental cover. Almost all had said wait until April, lol.

Yeah got to visit a endodontic specialist as well, no NHS treatment available with this service so its not going to be cheap but its got to be done

You'll need to email Oral-B to confirm it but i'm pretty sure that the pro 2 2200n is the same as the pro 2 2500, the only difference is the travel case.
 
Received my Oral-B iO10 Electric Toothbrush today and tried it out, its brilliant. Very powerful and easy to use to clean your molars and front and back of teeth.

I don't rinse after, leaving the toothpaste on my teeth then after 30 minutes scrap my tongue with a tongue scraper then I use Listerine total care mouthwash and squish that around for a minute before spitting it out.

Don't rinse my mouth after that but then don't drink for 30 minutes. Every day I floss my front teeth with Oral B dental floss. I haven't quite mastered getting to the back ones yet but its better than nothing.

I've got a water flosser on order which may make that easier. Did the lick your wrist test and no smell which means my breath is fresh.

I do need to make an appointment with a dentist for a deep cleaning as I have some tartar that needs removing.
 
Paired my toothbrush to my iPad and installed the Oral-B App. Set it to monitor my brushing this morning and I achieved 85% coverage. Not bad for my first attempt.

is there any substitute for the mechanical action of cord flossing - which takes 30s
didn't have floss as a child, and, I'd say, a more difficult skill to teach a child than electric brush use.

not sure whether there is any concession to allow children to access nhs dentists if there aren't any V

yea I was using Oral-B iO Radiant White and the head was looking a bit worn after 1.5months... no way they last 3 months like the app says unless you only brush once a day
 
I struggle to brush my teeth now without gagging, and I've just gone back to using an electric toothbrush, rather than a standard toothbrush.

I think it stems from when Covid first appeared and having to swab the back of my throat. Highly frustrating, my brain must be saying Covid swab when I try to brush. :( My dentist said to breath though my nose while brushing. It's made no difference. :(

This is perfectly good.

More expensive ones come with faster chargers etc and more fancy things connecting to you phone etc, but they use the same bruch heads as the way more expeinsive ones and the same motor etc.
 
The Oral B iO range is not worth the price premium at all, it doesn't brush your teeth any better than a cheaper model will (in some ways I'm convinced it's worse), and the app functionality requires you to have the app open while you're brushing, as opposed to just syncing in the background automatically. Battery life on mine is also pretty unimpressive because of the Bluetooth connection and the OLED screen on it.

Yeah, I got suckered in and bought one. I too think it's worse than my old cheap one. It's also a crap design as the handle is too smooth with nothing to grip on to.
