Maybe we should move it to the same as water. You can make x amount of profit Per year.

That's sort of how the water industry operates

Companies have to tender and justify increasing this. They do this to ofwat. If ofwat says no, they can't increase their unit prices etc. They ofwat have a lot of power.

Problem is they then dump sewage, over extract water since its cheap to do it that way etc

I'd be hitting 300-450 a month with that :(

Tories need to wake up.

I can see significant losses next year. If price cap is a loss maker. And most remaining fixes are loss making, and account deficit is growing... Its going to be a bad year.
Their is something wrong with this country when we prioritise the welfare of profit margins over those that grant those profit margins. We’ve got to stop fulfilling the role of the little guy and allowing them to psychologically bully us into maintaining what’s good for them at the expense of what’s good for us. They are privileged to have access to our lucrative markets and deep down they know it.

But this year its going to be negative.
If you take that profit and they say... Well there's no point being here anymore. We are leaving the UK... What then?
Let them go under, company is now worth sod all and nationalise it.

There is no longer any competition in the energy supplier market, it has failed spectacularly. Nationalise it and stop paying global energy market prices for home based renewables and north sea gas, those supplies should be bringing down the costs from our energy imports.

I don't think it would make much difference?

We have to pay the market rate.
Bp are profitable.
Youd have to pay 100s of blns. Possible into the trillions to nationalise the whole supply chain.

Then that would have to be paid for in taxes.
Youd be getting no tax from BP etc as you'd be charging at cost.

I don't see it as viable?

In principle I agree. It should be nationalised. But it needed to be before now. But apparently things were terrible when I more services were?
