Energy Suppliers

What sort rates are people getting now, it would be interesting to see a snap shot?

At the moment I'm with OVO fixed until March 2019. Region South East.

Electric 13.136p inc 5% VAT + 16.46p Standing charge inc VAT (with discount deducted)
Gas 2.993p inc 5% VAT + 16.46p Standing charge inc VAT (with discount deducted)

Currently paying £1,371.06 on my eon tarriff that runs out now, its saying if i dont renew its going to go upto £1,785.33.
Says moving to the E.ON Go Online 1 Year v18 it will be £1,550.12.
The cheapest one i can find using Eons own comparison thing on their site is £1,691.34

On Uswitch ive found a Yorkshire energy one fixed till oct 2019 thats £1,357.67 so even less than im paying now, so reckon i should move to this?

Edit: Forgot about money saving expert so just signing up to that now to have a look

The reason you can not find E.ON Go Online 1 Year v18 on Eons own comparison thing on their own site is it is only available via a price comparison site. Which just shows how much they do not reward loyalty.

Electricity: 14.88p/kWh + 18.9p per day
Gas: 3.39p per kWh + 18.9p per day

Just had a quick look at Cheap Energy Club and that's about the best fix there is now. Some have lower unit rates but higher standing charges, and vice-versa. The monthlies work out about the same. Shocking TBH.

Electricity inc vat
12.93p per kwh
11.02p per day standing charge

Gas inc vat
2.98p per kwh
11.02p per day standing charge

We are on Utility Point's Just Up 18 week 24 Direct fixed price tariff (fixed for 12 months). I believe that the latest tariff is more expensive per kwh.

Looks like the Pureplanet deal. I recently hooked myself up with that. Works out at a good price if you use average amounts.

Managed to get a £25 Amazon voucher when it started too.

There's this link they gave me, maybe someone else can get a voucher too?

Also, its Green not that I really give that much thought when I went with them considering the gas and electricity comes down the same pipes as the non-green stuff but I guess that means they in theory buy from renewal sources enough KwH to cover their customers usage.

Yes exactly that. I sell electricity from a wind turbine. It's all just metered into the grid & I swap suppliers for the best price every year or 2 on a fixed price, just like consumers buying in. Give or take they know how much on average I'll supply per year.

Octopus still show as more expensive for me than Bulb, but i will check again in November and switch if they are cheaper.

Outfox the market are showing as £130 cheaper, but they are a pretty new company with very few reviews.

I've been with Outfox The Market for 12 months now. No issues at all, they've increased their prices slightly (coming in to effect 1st November) but they still come out as the cheapest on every comparison site. We do use a ridiculous amount of gas/electric for a residential house though so it may be different for lower usage properties.

Recently moved from E-ON & British Gas to Bulb, bit unhappy they moved there prices up after I switch. But paying £74 now instead of £99 per month.

Smart meters? Will Bulb be supplying them at any point does anyone know?

Moved apartment and I need to switch from SSE to a new supplier - looks like Bulb and Octopus are good options especially considering the referral codes. Electric only.

Presumably Bulb are already including the November price rise in any quotations?

Bulb - 13.430p per kWh / 24.56p per day standing charge
Octopus Energy - 16.07p per kWh / 18.16p per day standing charge

Based on an estimate of 1900kWh per year, Octopus comes in at £31.63/m fixed and Bulb £29/m variable.

The obvious choice seems like Octopus given the likelihood that Bulb will increase prices again over the next 12 months? Thoughts?

My Breeze tariff runs out at the end of November, they sent me an email today and on the new tariff I'll be paying £100 versus £70 for the old one. Time to shop around I think.

Sent you an Octopus link. I've gone from Bulb to Octopus. Prices are all going up at the minute.

Having literally just signed up with Bulb I'm starting to wonder if it's not the best idea not to have a fixed tarriff with the way energy prices are rising. I'm actually considering cancelling the switch and looking elsewhere. :/

Prices are rising everywhere so does it really matter who you go with? I move into my new house on Saturday and am quite undecided on who to go with. Doing a quote on the likes of Bulb/Octopus/Utility Point/Pure Planet, Pure Planet comes up best by quite a bit. Anyone on here with them care to comment?
