OK let's try and pick some holes in these decisions:
Goalkeepers: In goal we've got a choice between Henderson (12.5 league games for his club this season), Johnstone (let in 74 goals in a relegated team) and Pickford (...)
Defence: Only two CBs from teams in the top half of the table, one of whom is an injury doubt and when fit would be evens at best in a foot race with Teddy Sheringham, and the other is such a liability at times that he can't even pull the wool over Paul Merson's eyes. Looking past them two, will the likes of Mbappe and Ronaldo be crying themselves to sleep the night before knockout games against defenders from teams in the bottom half who finished with e.g. a GD of -16? I doubt it somehow.
Midfield: Only one midfielder with over 16 caps, and he's injured.
Forwards: Nullify Kane and England look toothless, no other player has 15 international goals, and the two that have scored 5+ (Sterling and Rashford) haven't exactly ripped up many trees this season.
In all seriousness, I look at the keeper and CBs and think **** me, this is the 11th Euros in my lifetime and I can't think of many less confidence-inspiring triangles as the lynchpin of our team.
Personally I would've taken JWP instead of Rashford, but the FA will have told Southgate in no uncertain terms that MR must be in the squad as his wholesome image must be a sponsors dream.
