I still think one of the biggest issues we have is the blunt refusal/inability to see mistakes we make when we win.
All the way through the qualifying they were pulling out dodgy performances against poor teams but because they were scraping wins no one felt the need to criticise and improve.
Same happened with Slovenia. They played better than vs Algeria but by no means well and you have people like Harry Redknapp commenting 'there wasn't a weakness in the team' when there very very clearly were many weaknesses. If we had addressed these we may not have been humiliated by the Germans, merely lost with a bit of pride intact.
We haven't played a good game of football for a long time yet for some reason it has taken us until a humiliation at the World Cup to see it.
Redknapp would be an awful choice as manager - not only has he demonstrated his inept views several times during the last week with stupid comments like the one I quoted above, has he ever had success with a club where he hasn't bought in a load of players? We need the sort of manager who can use what he has and work the best out of them, not someone who has been through a string of jobs buying and selling their way to small successes because that management style doesn't apply to international football.
