English League & F.A. Cup Football [10th Apr - 14th Apr 2010] **spoilers**

Thought spurs got exactly what they deserved today, couldve gone out and won it but played like they'd already won. Fair enough some decisions didn't go their way but they shouldve had it dead and buried well before then. Wouldn't be suprised if they limp through the remainder of the season now. 3 straight losses coming up?

With the money we'd rinse them for, for those 2, we'll put together a squad to win the league :p

thats frighteningly true unfortunately (although without Benitez at the helm, otherwise you will waste a lot of cash on mediocrity instead of really good players):D

edit - Well done to Pompey although it will be a nothing final , I cant see anything else than a walkover at present (Essien, Cole and probably a few others will be pretty fit by then) - and to be fair it would be a walkover with the team they put out yesterday for the Semi

Rafa basically saying he has given up hope on getting a Champions league place there?!?

Rafa Benitez admits it will now be "very difficult" for his side to finish in the top four following a goalless draw with Fulham on Sunday.

Looks like it, yes :p

For me its not a problem he said what he said, when questioned, constantly, about it the response was pretty simple. He's trying to appear confident of the task at hand, so his players don't get the impression their manager has no confidence in them.

Thats fine, I don't care that he lied, though telling everyone he was basically just lying to try to keep the squad together, is basically the same thing as saying in reality, he doesn't have confidence in those players, which just makes him a bit of an idiot. You can't pump up players confidence by making a statement, then explaining the statement was basically not what you believed anyway.

City are what 6 ahead now, with a game in hand, so if thats 9 points, Liverpool have 4 games left and a 9 point gap, its incredibly unlikely isn't it, they've also scored less and got a worse GD so they'd need a clear points advantage thanks to a couple demolitions of poor teams by City. One win, or two including the game in hand out of 5 could pretty much seal Liverpools fate.

4th is still well up for grabs, if City, Spurs and Villa all win their games in hand the current table would be City with 65, Spurs with 64 and Villa with 60, Villa with a horrible goal difference. If City/Spurs drop a game and Villa win theres, they are right back in it.

As Liverpool or a possible 6 points of 6th place when all the games in hand are sorted out, they are screwed.

Great atmosphere at yesterdays game. Thought Spurs opened well but overall Portsmouth deserved their win dispite more poor refereeing. The Spurs goal should have stood and the penalty was anything but. The worst thing for Spurs was Portsmouth being relegated the previous day. With the weight of relegation finally off their shoulders and time to sleep on it, their hard work and determination paid off.

Well done Portsmouth - now you got the story finish the fairy-tale ending and win the cup outright.

i admire what redknapp has done but crouch has to go, we play the wrong style of football when he starts, though i admit (on this occassion) he did ok and the goal should never have been disallowed.
hope we keep hold of bale as he has been a revelation this year and him and lennon togethor would see us kill off teams who try and sit back. need a replacement for huddlestone as he is not good enough and we need to work on pav as i think he has real potential.

would love portsmouth to win the cup now but i fear they will get a drubbing as chelsea just wont do ''a spurs''
