English League Football ** spoilers ** [24th - 28th September 2010]

Oh wow, a wine session with David 'shampoo' Ginola. You can tell well cultured and opera loving defenders like Lee Dixon were really into it as well.

Bunch of ass honestly, why was that on instead of Goal of the Month?

Just read why Kamara has been injured for the last 2-3 months:

Speaking about his injury, he added: 'Someone kicked me on the foot in the summer - a sore foot, that is it. That has kept me out until now.'

Good grief.

Is it me or is it just a coincidence that Chelsea loose their first match of the season on John Terry's return yet both England and Chelsea having been playing well in his absence? My hope is that he stays out of the England squad for awhile.

I just don't see where your idea that Rio has been rubbish for 3 years has come from, when it's been well known he's been vital to United winning the EPL/CL.

Rio was also one of the main reasons Utd didnt win the league last season - because he didnt play enough. Looks like this season is going to be similar :(

Utd need a consistant back four - constant changes doesnt help anyone, Rio is good enough when he is fit, but as he is never fit for more than one match in two/three it makes little difference. There is still (imo) a massive question mark as to whether Rio will ever play a good long run of games for Utd again

I could have sworn that Rio didnt play consistantly in that long run of not conceeding a goal either - nice bit of history none the less :)

I started watching football ever since i was born/remember, i dont follow utd in anyway really apart from the big games and the little bits on MOTD so how would i know that?

Why ask us to provide you with games that Rio excelled in then if you wouldn't know what games we're talking about

Probably more to do with them playing somebody half decent at last

Glad Utd only managed a draw at the weekend. (Srry Utd fans ;)) With Arsenal doing so poorly and Chelski having a rare slip up it would have made the weekend worse.

I really wish Arsenal would have got a GK. I think Almunia has got worse this year and his nerves are something that shouldnt be acceptable playing for a professional team. Should be no excuses when he plays against WB, (No offense WB fans ;)).

I also think it was a bad idea getting two new CBs in at the same time. Neither who have worked long with the rest of the defence playing together.

Wenger better pick up a goalie in January. Hopefully we arent out of all the contests by then :(

EDIT: I just read the Brighton have been holding onto a 15% clause on Barry for years now. They must have been gutted at the time all those Liverpool bids got turned down for him.

Not strictly true :)
Brighton won't benefit from Aston Villa selling Gareth Barry
Jun 3 2009

BRIGHTON have revealed they will not receive any further money from Villa following Gareth Barry’s move to Manchester City.

A tribunal in 1998 ruled that they would receive a downpayment of £500,000, plus further add-ons, including 15 per cent of the portion of any future transfer fee, over and above the amount already paid, if Barry was sold.

Brighton waived this some years later in return for a lump-sum settlement with Villa, which took the deal above £1 million.

Club spokesman Martin Perry said: “At the time we were fighting for the stadium and the club’s future, and opted for a cash settlement with Aston Villa. The funds were very much needed and provided a vital cash injection. It was the correct decision at the time.”

Ah fair enough, did seem like it would have been a long time to wait. A millions not a bad deal either.

And pretty glad I didn't get a ticket to that after all.

Yay, what a weekend, fed up with Arsenal, the only time we don't have a useless weekend is if everyone else manages to screw up as badly as we did.

lets see, copy & paste the same stuff from every other poor performance plus add a little.

Diaby, why, why is he a professional footballer, why do people pay him to play football. Awful footballer, lazy as sin, truly woeful in every half big game of the year, not to mention a wallking red card who consistantly goes in late and does awful challenges, after having his ankle broken he's done the same tackle on a dozen other people in the league, has injured players, lucky to not have injured more. talking about shawcross and others is a joke when Diaby is consistantly picked and does as disgraceful tackles several times a year. Was it Sjneider he injured in last years Emirates tourney with a horrible tackle.

Anyway, again taking off Eboue while leaving the truly horrific Sagna on the pitch, still playing Song despite being hopeless, after the game saying he knew we were screwed within 5 minutes, yet took 60+ mins to make a real change, saying in the PROGRAM that West Brom were playing good football, not to be underestimated, then underestimated them and played a weakened team..... genius.

Vela came on, and he played the striker whose shown his fininshing is top draw as a winger and Arshavin whose finishing is appauling this season as a striker....????

Panicked last minute effort to take off a striker and play his "really lost the plot and out of ideas" formation, which cost us another goal.

YET AGAIN switching to a 4-4-2 because he clearly believes we have a better chance to score goals in 4-4-2, than 4-5-1, recognises the players are suited to 4-4-2, relys on it when things go wrong, why then does he ever play 4-4-2?>?????

Wenger, has to go, hasn't changed in 5 years, there was a significant and MASSIVE change in the way he managed 5 years ago, he hasn't changed one iota since, he's learned nothing, makes the same mistakes game in game out, couldn't more clearly show he's not got what it takes to do great with Arsenal again. We've had two tough games this season drawn with a poor Pool who outplayed us, and outplayed by west brom who scored 3 on our turf.
