Epic Games Store now open!

They've integrated the Epic online service into the single player Steam release though, which just seems dumb to me.

It's not dumb, it's a feature of the Unreal engine which allows for developers to use Epic's services to do cross-platform play. As far as I know, no other company does this - not PSN, not Xbox Live, not Steam. From what I've read, it's an optional thing for Satisfactory if you want to play with people who own the Epic version.

Can anyone who's been collecting these freebies since the beginning find their earliest emails and see what date's on it? I don't seem to have any purchase records prior to July 2019, maybe because I've changed emails and deleted them or something.

You get receipts, it goes through as a purchase for £0.00.

EDIT - Earliest for me is Jul 2019. I think I got on it straight away?

Yeah, same for me. They started December 2018 with the freebies but my first receipt is for Limbo in July 2019. Thanks for confirming. Just doing some digital housekeeping.

I've bagged all the freebies bar one - For Honor as that required some Uplay linking which I was averse to do until they gave out AC Syndicate. I've bought two games from their store and promptly refunded them. Have no intention really of buying anything ever, I have waited this long for Borderlands 3 and Control to come to Steam.

They might require you to sign up for an IOI.dk account (which nets you some extra outfits in the game anyway) so they can verify you own the maps for Hitman 1+2. Then just give you them when you play Hitman 3 elsewhere. Might work for Steam > Epic but not likely for Steam > console, which is my route. :(

Well I think Hell is about to freeze over. :p 3 days to go until my 2x £10 vouchers expire. So I'm thinking Hades for a fiver and Control UE for £15... Managed to hold out for almost 2 years. :p
