There is going to be a lot of attention around Sporting v Man City on 5th November (Tuesday). I hope Pep doesn't batter him :o

Antony LWB feels like an obvious thing to try while we have no players there.
Joking aside, Antony did look good for Ajax in some Champions League games (against Amorim's Sporting, no less). I think there's a player in there and he's not as bad as people think... he does seem a bit of a weirdo though.

Excellent new. Well, probably. Maybe. At least hes going to be fun.

My thoughts. On the face of it..... Yay? But let's see what happens.... I am prepared for hopes to be dashed.... May take a while.

Fun and Manchester United, now that would be something.
The Athletic guys seemed to agree that we stopped seeing progression in this team in about February 2023 which is damning. I'm enthused and I hope he tries his own thing even if it means it takes a while to get it to work. Ten Hag had seemingly run out of ideas as we were basically just rinse and repeat the same flawed game model. Even when we won it felt underwhelming. McSauce bagging 2 in 5 minutes to get a draw against Brentford shouldn't be the high point!

I wish him luck and the early reports suggest he'll be a more likeable personality than Erik was. Unfortunately that is something that matters when you are manager of a big club like ours.

Interestingly he's been specifically appointed as a head coach, not the usual title of manager. More in line with how a lot of clubs are operating nowadays.

The media are reporting that he was always the plan since the summer, and as our interest in him became apparent a few hours after ETH was sacked, that is probably true.

It shows at least there was a clear train of thought from Berrada and Ashworth in terms of the coach they wanted, I don't think Tuchel & others were ever on the cards.

Can you clarify what you mean by since the summer? Summer is when they gave ETH an extension. They extended with the plan to change?

If they were waiting to see how this season went surely they needed to wait until Yoro and Ugarte were fit/embedded?
