erm... I think they've kicked me out of uni

Accusation of stolen Hard Drive (with very specific details) and you're worried about a timetable and attendance ???

Perhaps go and see the Student Union rep, if nobody else seems to be able to help you (which I find odd).

I honestly cant believe some of you are falling for this clearly obvious troll.

If he was at uni that means he must have enough intelligence to pass some exams. Which also means the story is rubbish.

"cant find my timetable"... he has apparently got 20% attendance, so are we to believe that the ones he attended were staffed by a robot and only he was there and so was unable to ASK someone else on the same course!

2/10 for a trolling attempt

I don't have any friends at uni, yet, hopefully.

And I also mentioned that the timetables are messed up. Even the office staff were confused. There's no paper based timetables to photocopy, they're all scattered on the intranet and internet.

You didn't go to freshers week and you have no friends. Why do you want to stay at uni?

The thing that springs to my mind is....is the OP actually at university???

Registrations...attendance...only there 20% of the time.

It's university, it's independent learning...and they have registers?

OK it's been a good old while since I was at uni but that's just madness!

Do any other unis monitor attendance?

They did in some classes when I was at Durham 6 years ago. It'll be even more prevalent in the ***** unis.

Why have you left it so long to sort this out. Why aren't students proactive anymore, they think everything is going to be handed to them on a plate, this is Uni, not school!

They tend to in the smaller more specialized courses, but not in the 200+ people per lecture ones. (except for certain things like one of courses to teach you how to use necessary software ore practical labs etc)

Whoa there captain labelmeister 5000. Asim is definitely not the archetype of students!

Did in.

I'm not one for picking up on things like that but I find is funny all the same when it's somebody soo critical of others. ;)

Cheers for the replies guys.

That's just depressing...part of the whole uni thing is freedom and self motivation...what's the point in handholding?

*Mutters about the state of the 'yoof' of today...*

it's not hand holding, it's that the course costs money, if they don't think you're putting in the effort you get a warning, then you get throw out so they don't have to waste time on you.

tbh, if you're that inept that you can't sort out these simple problems so early on in the course, then you fail. Quit while you're ahead.
