Huh a leture with a register???
My Uni Has a "register" ONLY in the 10 person lab sessions, and only because they Have to by law...
In letures its a bit of paper you can tick if you like, they wont count that towards attendance its just a mesure of how many people are there.
Also i never went to freshers... i just imported my timetable to google calender onto my iphone
I made friends the first day... (helps when my course is only 8 people)

1. Why didn't you go to freshers week? WTF!
2. If you've received an email that serious GO INTO UNI AND TALK TO SOMEONE FFS. Sitting on your arse at your computer isn't going to get the problem solved, neither is replying via email. Clearly there have been plenty of mix ups, go and sort them out. If someone says they can't help you, go over their heads.
3. Posting on OCUK doesn't solve problems.
