Escape from Tarkov

So I played beta for first time last night, I'm not entirely sure what you're meant to do... it seems kinda dull and this is coming from someone who has played these kind of hardcore slow paced fps survival style games a lot over the years.

It basically just seems like a one life deathmatch with AI and maybe another human player if you're lucky to stumble across one. I walked around the map for about 20-30 mins and saw one AI who I killed with no skill required whatsoever and that was it, that was the entire experience.

How many humans are usually in servers ? How many AI ? is it normal to go into a server and basically not see anyone or anything ?

Also, please tell me they are adding Anti Aliasing support soon ? Graphics are one big jaggified mess at the moment.

The idea is that you raid the instances & loot as much as you can to either sell or equip yourself better for the next raid, currently its a FFA but the final game will be faction based with two rival PMCs, there is also the Scavs faction who will kill either PMC on sight & are mostly AI but you can also play as a Scav on the AI side which allows you to add any items you get out with to be added to your characters stash but does not add to your stat progression.
Each map allows different numbers of players/AI.
Sometimes you can be unlucky in getting into a match that has already started or one where Scav players who either don't know they are only supposed to kill PMC players or they are exploiting the AI who won't attack them until they are attacked either way its generally players who ruin the experience for me at least.
It is still a Beta & there are lots of things to be added yet so don't give up on it just yet.

I know this will not be a popular thing to say but the cash grab is strong with this one.
I've had that feeling all along, hopefully it won't be but I feel they have hyped it up to just get a quick buck for when it's released, like all "Early Access" games, maybe I'll be wrong but DayZ, Killing Floor 2 (Charged much less when released when told EA would get it cheaper) have screwed me over.

I agree some of the packages are a little steep, I got my Alpha access during the half price sale before xmas otherwise I'd have waited but I've enjoyed my time with the game so far & from what I've seen progress is being made in the development.
Anyone expecting a survival/last man standing game similar to PUBG is barking up the wrong tree with this game! but if you are after an atmospheric & tension filled experience I'd give it a look on Youtube first before biting the bullet, be aware though that most Youtuber's that cover this regularly have press account with plenty of weaponry & gear already where as you will start with a very basic loadout in your stash.

There is a good game hiding here, it is just under a mountain of issues at the moment. Labelling it as a beta is a bit optimistic - it is alpha at most.
I truly hope they can work out the problems and become feature complete, though as for when that will be or what the priorities are is unknown; the developers are far less communicative than your usual active early access title. They could really learn a thing or two in that regard from Offworld Industries (the Squad development team) with their regular monthly reports and community interaction.

If you have only played in the Beta this past weekend don't take that as the normal state of play, I think they let in too many people on the last round of Beta entries & the servers suffered massively as a result, I've played from the Alpha & have to say that this weekend has been by far the worst this game has been for me since I started playing.
The AI was also tweaked & now seems to be flip flopping between being superhuman headshot machines & being completely immobile for the majority of a match.

the only real bug and it's more of a tweak needed is the AI. from watching the streams, i don't see issues? Don't get me wrong i know it's a beta but it looks solid to me.

Customisation you can do to your gun is immense in this game, and i love having to equip your man before a raid, i mean like, even having to put your bullets in the clip/magazine before putting in gun, amount of times i gone on a raid with a empty clip/magazine, great potential this game.

I disagree, and issues do not exclusively mean bugs but I'm not trying to put you off :) Go for it, it can be very enjoyable!
