Escape from Tarkov

Specs in my sig with graphics maxed never drops below 40-50fps. 3440x1440p. I was surprised it has 21:9 support.

If you're not sure about paying this much for it I'd advise watching a few streamers or videos on YouTube first :)

I've been following this for a while but hadn't checked in for 5-6 months, looks like it's come a long way even in that short time.

Just been watching some recent youtube vids on the newer maps and it looks intense! this is a definite buy for me.

Just got a message back from OC, it's scheduled to ship on the 7th, so will probably arrive the 9th earliest :( they must have been busy when I placed the order.

Looks like you'll have quite the head start by then!

Finding time to play with my schedule is difficult atm so i doubt that , i did play last night for a couple of hours in offline mode it gets your heart racing especially when your creeping about and you here a voice but cant see anyone .

For anyone who has seen the film stand by me and can remember the scene when vern keeps guard with the gun while everyone sleeps < this is me playing Escape from Tarkov

Haha I can imagine. Glad you’re having fun with it mate

Been playing this for a couple weeks! It's pretty intense! The gfx looks incredible! The inventory is a little e clunky but manageable. Atm just concentrating on levelling up my traders!! Few good loot runs as scavs and been in some crazy fire fights in the dorms!

Good news! My PC should come tomorrow (3 days less than the predicted shipping date)

If anyone wants to hold the hand of a complete PC noob in offline mode for a couple rounds let me know!

After playing the game for a few hours I see this as being a squad shooter, it’s very difficult to survive as a solo player. I’m still yet to learn the map but I’ve noticed in offline mode you can disable scavs so this will give me a chance to have a run around without being shot giving me a chance to see the map.

I wonder if they are going to add some kind of system that makes the game more fair, like
Player xp balancing. I played today and instantly got pinned down by a squad of 2 with big weapons I ran like a bitch . I only had a pistol so I didn’t stand a chance .

The game looks so good and has so much going for it let’s hope they get it finished and it doesn’t end up being one of those games that never leaves beta/alpha.

Had this for a couple of days now, and wow all I can say is it's intense and an amazing experience. Kind of what I was looking for in PUBG but never really got.

Only scratching the surface of all the systems etc and I know this is going to be a long term game for me :)

Runs surprisingly well as well even on my modest G4560, RX480 4GB, 8GB RAM system. Everything turned one notch down from the max and i the lowest I've seen is around 45 fps (1080p) AA is disabled in the game atm but just install reshade and enable SMAA to get rid of the jaggies. Looks amazing, the rain effects are stunning.

And a heads up for anyone wanting to try it, It's on a Black Friday sale 23/11 - 25/11. 25% off all the packages.

I mean does Re-shade really make all the difference ? and is it worth it?

I use it on every game I can, the performance impact is tiny, if any at all.

You only need to use a few of the options and it's just a tick box of what effects you want. Everything is done in game so you can see the result straight away and turn it off if you don't like it.

Main ones I use are:

'Adaptive sharpening' or 'Luma sharpening' if adaptive is too strong.

'SMAA' - for AA....

'Levels' or 'curves' to balance contrast

Just ticking these options or a combination of these options makes a massive difference to the image.

For Tarkov I'm just using SMAA adaptive sharpening.

It makes minimal to no difference to jaggies in this game... I’ve spent many hours trying to make the game look vaguely respectable due to the lack of AA and the best option is to use Nvidias DSR at a res like 4K. Still far from great and rapes performance somewhat but looks much better than reshades AA which does next to nothing for this game.

really, you sure reshade is properly installed?

No AA - https://imgur.com/kejejeL

AA through reshade - https://imgur.com/TdK0ecA

It's especially evident around the forklift and wooden crates.

I think those screenshots are a perfect example of what im talking about, minimal difference.... still tons of jaggies visible (especially when the game is in motion, still screenshots do not even begin to display just how bad the jaggies are in this game).

Look at those telephone lines or whatever they are in the distance, the aliasing is so bad that it doesn't even look like an entire wire, it looks like it has holes all the way through it lol.

It's why I can't play the game, the aliasing just looks so so bad in motion. The game also really struggles with image clarity at long distances.
