Escape from Tarkov

You'll only get a key from the developers themselves. Be prepared to pay more than what is advertised due to Xsolla too...

The only similarity it has to PUBG is that it contains weapon modifications. It's much smaller scale than PUBG (currently), and much much more detailed and technical. Haven't touched scum so no idea on any similarities to that, aside from the minor survival aspects.
 
I've watched few people play this on Twitch and it looks awesome but so complex. They're flinging items around at a rate of knots. So much loot!
BUt the thing that entices me is the suspense. Creeping around trying to avoid detection.
 
It is sweat enducing at times....Me and Coldasice trying to get into a room, started get shot at, got into the room, I'm bleeding out and lost my leg, managed to heal up whilst Cold covered the door. He shoots someone down, he's bleeding out, medding up etc - Then I got the documents for the mission, more gun fire, then Cold has a Boiler repair guy turn up in real life at the door!!! I blast another scav down and finally we make a break for the exit but since I've got a blacked out leg, it's like wading through treacle!! Got out with the documents but christ I was sweating bullets!

Bloody briliant game once you get into it but it's a tough/steep learning curve to start with - Any new players - get on discord - been super super helpful and fun.

How much scope is there for people to play by themselves or do you really need to be in a group/pair?

Playing on your own is fine - you can PMC or Scav run solo - sometimes better as you can just sneak around more etc. 2/3 players is good - 5 is carnage!!! So many teamkills! :p:p

Should you get it - yes, it's very very good fun. Hard, sweat inducing, complicated, difficult, satisfying all at the same time.
How Much - expensive - wait for the sales likely around Xmas /new years - see here - https://www.escapefromtarkov.com/ - different packages - don't forget you need to add VAT & Tax to the price it shows you in the initial page.

I'm loving it - discord is perfect for this with some duo's etc - really good but very frustrating at times. I literally know 1 map of the 7/8 available....Hardly touched any of the others so far.
 
What.A.Game.

I've been playing between the PVE/Offline mode to learn the map (Customs) and doing scav runs. I haven't played as a PMC in the online mode yet.

I love the gunplay and the sounds are fantastic. I had a game earlier where I logged in and just couldn't figure out where I'd spawned so I was looking for something I could recognise on the map. I went around the corner, along a wall and saw a warehouse infront of me with a guy looting someone. I didn't think he saw me but he quickly disappeared and then apppeared again on the other open door and opened fire. Took me down pretty quickly.

In my second game as a scav this morning, I was running across open ground, lost my left arm and took a big hit on the thorax. I found it such a rush getting out and even though I only got out with a packet of fags and some apple juice, it still felt good. I bet it's fantastic when playing in a small gang.

yeah - loads on discord - usually at least 4 or 5 a night. All super helpful and fun to play with.

Starting out - play in offline mode - learn the maps - I started with Customs. Learn it inside out, use 2nd monitor to put up a map. Then do online scav runs... that way if you get out, you keep what you have, if you die, it's no loss.

I've played for about 3 weeks now and I know customs well, a bit of woods, I know the outside of Interchange but inside is a maze.

Loving the game overall - some real heart pounding moments, some very funny ones as well.

Would love to buy this but it took an unusually long time to get their website to accept my registration details and after approximately 100 attempts it finally worked.

My email address is now registered but it won’t let me login. I think I’ll maybe go and get something from the Steam or Epic sale instead. It looks like Tarkov is not to be.

They are in the process of a update so servers to game, launcher and website are effected, should be all back up in a hour or 2.

it is a really great game, most addicted to this than any other game I've ever played, would highly reccomend.

Finally got logged in and bought the standard edition. You have to jump through a lot of hoops to get registered and buy the game. At current download speed I am optimistic I should get to play the game before 2019 is out. :D
