GTasks is excellent, now my Google Calendar tasks are never going to be missed again!

1: Are you sure the ring volume is set up high? my volume is very loud when on max using decent ringtones (classic ringer).

2: bTunes is supposed to be good.

3: I don't know what you mean by this, do you mean it shows onscreen who is callnig while ringing? Android shows who is calling while ringing anyway and you can choose to decline, answer or forward them to voicemail as standard.

Cheers for the above!

1: I should have specfied that mp3 ringtones are quiet compared to my Nokia 5800. The standard ring tones appear to be ok. I think that it's down to the generally naff external speaker which can be crackly at full volume. The Nokia has two speakers in stereo and it is crystal clear in comparison.

3: The phone can be set so that when someone (ie "John Smith") calls it goes: ringtone - then speaks "John Smith" - continues ringtone - "John Smith" - continues ringtone. So you can have the phone in your pocket and it speaks to you who is calling if they are in your phonebook.
The Android apps I've found do the speech and ringtone together which is utter pap!
I find this option to be very handy and have gotten very used to it on my Nokia!

Please flame me if I am missing something but is it correct that I cannot download apps and games direct to my sd card on my x10 that has the 1.6 android O/S ?

I mean the phone has 1gb of space on it. What if I get a game like footy manager that would be like 400mb. that's 40% of the phone used up..

Apps have to be installed directly to phone storage, not SD cards. SD cards are for data only on os versions 2.1 and lower.

I think the largest app on the market place is 24mb? That'll change now os 2.2 (froyo) is starting to be rolled out as we'll see apps getting larger to make use of SD card space.

You are correct you'll have to wait till 2.2 update

You should have got a Desire (Think Spec Savers Advert)

I'd happily go to where you work, bust out my Desire and Wiimote and begin playing NES and MEGADRIVE games and just see who does the ridiculing.

I'd probably also load up youporn or something since Flash 10.1 is smooth and fap in their faces!*

*Probably unlikely though :p

Yeah, sadly, that is their life. And I have to work with them... didn't even consider getting a desire because of it. They all have iPhones... (could you have guessed?)

I'm at network administrator and work in same office as all the software developers all of us have Android phones and all the sales guys have iPhones!
