Just seen on the launcherpro website that Federico has launched 'LauncherPro Plus', essentially a paid for ($2.99) version of LauncherPro with the addition of some widgets (well, one right now, others to come).
I'm tempted to do it because I think LauncherPro is worth that much, however not sure on the method as it's not on the market officially, there's just a paypal link, whats to stop him from charging more for the next version etc?

Hopefully he'll have a system in place for updates, I bought dxtop a long time ago direct from the developer and he just emails out a link with a 3 download limit page every time there's an update. Personally I think he should probably use slide-me.
Don't think I will bother buying the plus version, never had sense and not particularly impressed with sense widgets.

I switched over to ADW Launcher last week, speed is about on par with LauncherPro now IMO, and now supports themes.
Might be worth a look before purchasing anything.
LauncherPro Plus WILL cost more once all sense widgets are in pace, he even says so in the blog.
Current price is worth it and he says buy now to benefit from the discount - which would mean future updates won't be at any cost for people who bought already.
ADW isn't as robust as launcherpro, I've used both long enough and LP just keeps getting better with new features and performance.

Horses for courses I guess, although for either launcher there is a new contacts widget called scrollable contacts widget that is pretty similar to the HTC Sense widget.
The LauncherPro Plus version is currently virtually 1:1 with the Sense version - the ADW one is not (yet). I'd imagine the gameplan for LauncherPro is to look and feel exactly like Sense widgets and going by the current People widget that's certainly the case which is great.

The only cease and desist from HTC will be the copying of the visual look (skin) of the widgets, like how yr.no got one for copying flicpclock -well if even that, I know HTC have IP rights to the flicpclock but IIRC yr.no ripped the flipclock out of the HTC framework didn't they whereas Fede is building the widgets from scratch since those particular widgets need the HTC framework in order to work so his widgets can't be rips of the HTC widgets.
i will not be buying that, i have got pure messeneger and pure calendar, they have scrollable sms/fb/email/calendar and they are on par with sense i think.. theres a few features missing and a few extra.. not paying twice
my damn yr.no weather thing i have from before it got updated is now playing up a bit, it shows the weather for the next 6 hour chunk so if its 3 am it will show 6-12 :/ bit annoying
taskers also being a pain atm with apn not working, im in convo with the dev about this tho
edt.. tasker is very snazzy tho.. [will be once sorted] i flick my phone in different directions to open apps, and it turns on/off data dependant on its location etc

I can't see LP Plus on the Market, is it a direct purchase?
Yep through paypal, go to the free version on the market and scroll down to the developers web site and you will find a link.
hmm.. just looked at lp pro.. its cheap, im tempted.. need a few screen shots from people on here
The only widget available is the friend one, and their is an image of it on the LP site.

Tasker is probably in my top 3 apps, it does so much stuff, but you definitely need to learn how to program it first.
How do you do the flicking to open apps on it?!
