I use Pure Calendar for the agenda on my home screen, looks very nice and is functional enough for me. There's also a grid version if you prefer that sytle. For the actual management etc. I use the calendar built into android as I have set up everything I need on Google calendar on my PC and it syncs to that with no issues.

Suggestions wanted for the best calendars please.

I use the calendar widget that comes with LauncherPro Plus. Particularly like the way it shows all the calendars for Exchange/Facebook/Gmail/Outlook all on one calendar, and colour-coded (and you can choose which ones to show/hide).

Robbie, thanks for this. Adblocker wasn't working for me, but this works a treat.:)

Yeah AdFree is fiddly sometimes, I have had it work then not work as it can't connect to their server but the zip works perfectly.

any decent wifi apps out there that doesnt use much memory and battery power, bit of a pain at the moment as i have to go into settings all the time to scan for wifi signals

is there any good sports/walking trackers that have offline map tracking out there? i had runsat and gpsb sports tracker on my winmobile which were quite good as you could load the map up at home via your wifi but i cant find anything like that for android. is there any free satnav/route guidance that doesnt have to use your network too, been on payg means you can soon clock up some tariff useage if your not carefull

Viewranger GPS is fantastic.
Admittedly you have to pay for the Ordnance Survey maps to make it any use as the free supplied UK map is very low detail. For instance it cost me about £25 for all of Dartmoor (1:25000 Explorer tiles) which is as high detail as you can get.
It works fine in when you have no mobile phone connection as all map data is stored on the sd card and tracks walks / routes you take recording start / end times, distance, elevation, average speed and other info. Its not aimed as a fitness app so wont caculate calories burned etc but as someone who enjoys walking in the country I cant rate it highly enough.

I use the WiFinder app. Most of the time, I can just enable wifi to connect at work and home, but when I am out and about, I need something to do a quick scan, WiFinder works great!

Wifi Analyzer is fairly decent, you can always just create a shortcut to wifi settings too.

Not used it, but I saw Runkeeper mentioned somewhere. It's free for January.

I'm looking at phone security and recovery if it get's lost. I know there's not much you can do if the phone is stolen and the sim card removed but i've tried the norton security app. This allows me to lock, locate (gives gps coordinates) and wipe the phone. Are there any other apps, perhaps better featured than norton that are worth considering?

I use PREY, which although I've never had to use it, seems to have all sorts of features to help lock and find your phone. Plus I think it can be set to automatically activate if the sim card is changed.

I use PREY and ES Security Manager for these.

I send a special SMS to the phone (well 1 message for each app) and it will lock the phone (ES Security Manager) with an on-screen message giving my details and contact number to return it and I can use PREY to monitor where it is.

Both apps do SIM monitoring as well meaning that, if someone changes the SIM, then the locking and tracking apps automatically start up. Also, ES or Prey (forget which one) will send an SMS to a number I nominate if the SIM is changed so I have the new number of the person with my phone (quite blatantly a thief if they have swapped the SIM)

Awesome replies, thanks guys :) I wasn't aware you could do anything if someone changed the sim, especially track the thing!! I've installed Prey and set up an account and I'll do the same with ES Security Manager. Hopefully I'll never have to use the apps but it would be a great excuse to play detective!!

Guys, getting into this full customisation thing now with my desireHD. I have got Launcher Pro on it now, which has made it looks much more swish, but before I had a button on my home screen which turned mobile data on and off, I can't find this under LauncherPro shortcuts, so does anyone know where it is in there or if there is a good app for this? I tried switchpro but it didnt appear to do that on off task, well unless i turned off wifi for some reason.
