Yea it's pretty annoying. I have played all of the first tier and still do not have enough to buy a new car, I have to wait 5 minutes all the time for car services and feel that the races themselves are rigged to make you pay which is an absolute downer.

I ran one race 4 times, the first three times all of the cars zoomed ahead of me and I was eliminated from the race before the first corner. On the fourth run I easily passed all of the cars.

I would have probably paid a good chunk of cash to play an enjoyable racing game. Don't get me wrong I don't have a problem with paying for in game items in free games, I have done this plenty on the PC. But how are you supposed to enjoy a game when you know that every part of the experience and every race you run is only designed to milk more money out of you not to be as enjoyable as possible...

F2P games are a great idea when they are done right, when you pay for something nice in the game, when you want to progress a little faster or when you just want to be the blingest mofo in the game. But when your whole experience of the game is stifled and made intentionally difficult it is hard to enjoy it.

Tried searching the thread without much success, as well as the main apps on the market :(
I'm looking for a decent TV guide app. I want a genre view, plus now and next; I don't think that's anything too onerous?

The best I've found so far (And it's not very good) is TVGuide24. My main issue with this one is I can only hide channels totally, not just from the Genre listings. As I've got a Freesat box, this clogs up everything with ten tons of junk. (For example, there are about 20 Judge Judy's a day over ITV2 & the CBS channels, and somewhere about the same number of cop shows)
I've removed all the +1s and junk channels, but the genre view is practically useless.

The now and next works alright, but otherwise it's a pain. All I want is now & next and the ability to keep an eye on the documentary listings for anything interesting popping up.

Doesn't have a genre view but you can select what channels to show and it has good now & next. Also you can set reminders and record using Sky Remote & Tivo but I haven't used either of those features.

I think you need Zeebox -

Initially it tells you what everyone is watching, the guide can be narrowed down by film, sports etc, you get to tell it what TV service you have, so you only see your channels and it will give you the channel numbers. It even, if you have a Tivo box, lets you change channel through the app!

Completely agree with everything you've written. EA are getting the whole F2P thing so wrong.

Is there any way to prevent the back button from closing an app? I don't like it when I'm deep in the settings, and then press back a few times and don't know which is the "first" screen, thus minimising the app.

To those playing RR3 and who are rooted, can't you use 'gamekiller' to hack the game and get unlimited money? I did that with NFS Most Wanted, Mini Motor Racing, Temple Run, Temple Run 2 etc. Basically the games which you need to grind out to get money to advance anywhere. I find the games far more enjoyable when you start with unlimited money. :p

If anyone needs help using Gamekiller, it is very easy, I can talk you through it. Very clever little app. :)

Edit: Can confirm Gamekiller works with RR3. Found someone online who's done it. From my experience, it doesn't ruin your enjoyment of the game since you still need to actually play through it all but you don't need to grind it out to build up money/gold etc.

As far as I know, chrome has always displayed these forums badly. I've always found it quite poor, from day one it used to make my (then) S2 freeze horribly.

I found it fine accessing these forums until the latest update, but terrible now. Though when I say until the latest update, I've only been using it since December, so no knowledge prior to that.

I have not been able to get 1080p files to play properly over SMB by simply using file explorers on any of the devices I have tried from multiple PCs.

They play flawlessly over DNLA.

I wasn't able to either, until I tried ES File Explorer. It's the best program I've used for streaming, even though it just provides access to other files for whatever media player you use.

That's even worse :o
Looks and feels like an app from years ago, I don't know why it's so difficult for people to implement a semi-reasonable set of filters and a nice UI :(
Wouldn't be so bad if people didn't classify Judge Judy and all the junk cop shows along with documentaries; They really ought to live with the entertainment and junk stuff :p
