in need of a free to use voicemail app. i currently use visual voicemail, but after getting my bill through this month and finding the number they make you divert to is a nice expensive one and i've now got an additional £40 on my bill i think it's time to change.

i'll go back to tmobile if i have to, however i do like having access to each individual voicemail.

the app doesn't have to be free, i'll happily pay for a decent one, however using it does have to be free

i've tried hullomail before and found that to be much worse of an app

Not sure what problems you have had with hullo mail but I have been using it for two years or more with no issues at all, it just does what it should do, ie answer the call if I can't and send me an email with an attachment in it.

I highly recommend it.

It's working on Dead Trigger and a couple of others but not NFS

NFS doesn't have native gamepad support, so you need six axis for touch emulation, which requires root.

Root it, install Titanium Backup and backup, then flash new ROM and restore TB backup :).

Edit: You have a Sensation(?), I don't know how rooting works on those, but aslong as you don't have to wipe the phone during rooting the above will work :).

Oh wow, didn't know this app existed :p Thank you very much for that! Would be nicer though if it was native to Android...

I dont yet know if it requires wiping, if not I will give this a go, thanks.

Im not actually bothered about apps, so if theres a non root way of backing up messages and network settings that would be ideal
 
"SMS Backup +" or "SMS Backup & Restore" will back up SMS (not MMS, well "+" will backup MMS but doesn't restore them... :D, it also does call log though) without root. "+" does it straight to your GMail account as emails for each message, so if you have a lot it takes ages, "& Restore" backs them upto a file on the internal memory (or whereever you choose) and is very quick (but obviously you won't have your MMS messages on GMail, they won't be on the phone either way).

What do you mean by network settings? WiFi passwords, or your network provider (ie Orange/T-Mobile etc) settings to access the internet and what not?

The first Google will backup if you have their backup thing on (Settings>Backup and reset), the latter shouldn't be a problem not backed up :).

Edit: Apparently the Google backup thing in "Backup and reset" backs up/restores app data, I've no idea how well (if at all) it works though. Nor do I know how to force a backup if you've only just turned it on, or how to tell if the backup it automatically does it done :p.

Yeah I mean my phone network settings, so Virgin. Although I assume I should be able to find that online?

The more I think about it the more I think I don't mind loosing everything, so I think I'm just gonna wipe it.
 
Phone network settings shouldn't need backed up, like you say though if they are needed after a wipe you can just get them online somewhere easily enough :).

May as well backup your SMS, I wouldn't want to lose mine tbh, takes about 10 seconds to backup about 4k messages on the s2 with SMS Backup & Restore :).

I preferred using SMS Backup + originally as it put them all in your GMail account (and did call log), and even though it doesn't restore MMS it still uploaded them to Gmail, but restoring 4k+ messages takes a ridiculous amount of time (and for some reason I have thousands of duplicates as well, I'm guessing from when I've restored after flashing a ROM or something :/, so it takes even longer :().

So, what's a good browser for JellyBean?

It has to allow Flash, and text reflow. All the browsers I've tried (Opera, Dolphin, Stock, Chrome) have one or the other :(.

I guess I can just use one browser for flash stuff and then another for general browsing, but I'd prefer to use just one :p.
 
Right I'm having problems with Facebook Messenger, and not receiving any notifications.
Anyone else having problems?
