European Grand Prix 2011, Valencia Street Circuit - Race 8/19

My prediction for the race:

Vettel wins, nobody dies, AcidHell2 and Surnama claim the race is boring.

That was a pretty good prediction.

I didn't expect the race to be boring, but as it turned out, it was very straight forward. The attrition rate was low and all the front runners were basically time trialling. Aside from Alonso harrying Webber, I don't remember any action amongst the front runners.

Let's hope for something better at Silverstone.

With a magic 8 ball - he had to leave the sport when he wasnt allowed a spare tub 8 ball in case the main one broke ;)

ps3ud0

Why did Eddie Jordan quite running an F1 team?

If memory serves me correct, did he sell the team to someone (or a company) for a lot of money?

How did Jordan finish up?

Sold on several times under various names before eventually becoming what we now know as Force India.

Well that wasn't the most exciting race ever was it? Quite surprised McLaren were struggling so much but there we go. Interesting to hear Lewis predict that the new rules for Silverstone could be bad and then Ginsoon say that it might be ok.

Hopefullly we'll see some actual action next time out. Not going to make any predictions for that one just yet though!

It's hard to see how RBR/Vettel can lose this now.
Even Webber is getting decent results now and is in joint 2nd place (in the WDC).

It appears that the McLaren doesn't do too well in hot climate.

If Vettel were to not win another race this season, he would probably still end up winning the title.

If Vettel were going to be stopped, McLaren and Ferrari would need to keep Vettel off the podium for the remaining races, but I just can't see this happening right now.

Who knows though, at Silverstone new rules are being introduced, so it may have an effect on RBR's dominance.

excluding Alonso obviously.

Rivals admit defeat, almost...

Sebastian Vettel's rivals have admitted defeat in the race for this year's title following the Red Bull driver's sixth win of the season in Valencia.

German Vettel extended his championship lead to 77 points after eight rounds with his lights-to-flag victory.

And despite there being 11 races left in the calendar, Lewis Hamilton said: "It's finished really. In the sense of the title it's almost over already."

"The championship is not in our calculations," added Fernando Alonso.

"If anyone thinks we can win the championship being eight-tenths of a second behind [Red Bull] they don't understand Formula 1."
