Evolution or God

It depends what religion you ask but the one i briefly studied with would answer something like this :

I forget the fine details but the outline i remember is that Satan was created by God and Satan was cast out of heaven ( forget why ) and left to rule over earth for however many years to prove a point that Satan was right and God was wrong ( that man should know good and bad or something like that )

So in short everything happening now is because God is doing F all on purpose, yes God is there but left Satan to do this to prove a point lol.

That is why i stopped the sessions with them, it was all laughable and complete made up stuff from start to finish.
Lucifer was his favourite angel.

At the very least this god had a very lax interviewing process if he didn't align himself with company policy.

I think that God created us and evolution was his method. Although he seemed pretty ****** with the result and killed almost everyone by flooding the Earth.

This didn't work so he came to earth as a man and learned what the problem was. I think he thinks we'll end up destroying the beautiful world and everything on it but at least we've had some pointers as to how to be happy in the meantime. Some people seem to be able to instinctively get this right but I think many benefit from some support.

In his defence God hadn't meant us to have the choice between doing good or evil but that's just how it is. My cat is lucky, he dosn't have to worry about that.

Peace be with us all. It really is important to enjoy the time you have and love those around you.

Not much of a god - sounds like a person to me, not the CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE.

In fact, more like a petulant child throwing his toys out of the cot because things aren’t going his way.

Faith is like a mountain and there are many paths to the summit.

So all religions are equally valid?

They can’t all be right as they have opposite views and tenets. They can all be wrong though.

Don't believe in God.

Also don't think the big bang is correct either.

Most of physics is also models of how the universe behaves, not how it actually works.

We simply don't know anything.

If you don’t think the Big Bang model is correct, what are your reasonings and what do you think is the more likely model?

No she's not.

The god of t*** and wine - nice.

To answer the OP.

No god(s), its just random dice roll`s after random dice roll and time lots and lots of time based on the conditions that allow it to progress.

I think I'm correct in saying some recent telescope discoveries of the universe expansion rate have cast doubt on it. I'd have to go and find links.

Anyway, it doesn't explain what was there before.

I have no idea what the actual structure of the fabric of the universe is, wish I did.

All we have as humans is mathematical models of how parts of the universe behave. We don't have any clue what's really going on behind the scenes as it were. The maths that goes along with some of these theories is so extravagant that its that that often makes me doubt it can be correct. As an example, quarks. We have up, down, and even different 'colours' of them now. It's all made up as bad as religion is.

The Big Bang theory doesn’t say anything about what was there before because we can’t possibly know it - all it describes is how the universe went from a highly dense state to what we see now. The expansion has been known about for over 100 years - it has so much evidence for it that it would take something world-altering massive in scope to change that. The details of it all will always be subject to change as we learn more and our experiments become more sensitive, and that’s the beauty of science.

I just have an interest in science, astronomy especially, but no formal qualifications beyond high school physics, so I’m not an authority on anything, but it’s strikes me that you struggle to believe the science because you don’t understand it? The world of quarks is well understood by science because it’s what the experiments have shown in particle colliders - that there are many types of sub-atomic particles that make up the universe and cause the various building blocks is no surprise, and neither is it a surprise that our primitive monkey brains that evolved on the African plains are pretty ill-equipped to deal with this information. Luckily those who study this stuff as their role in life can do it for us, and in general science is self-correcting - it’s goal is to learn more and nothing gets a scientist more notoriety than proving another one wrong…

I can recommend a few YouTube channels I follow that deal with this stuff in a dumb enough way that I can (usually) understand if you’d like mate?
