Evolve thread

That's really odd, I was getting 55-60 fps while recording the game on a single FirePro D700 aka 280X in gaming performance at 1080p all on High with Tessellation and FXAA.

Although it's a RAM, and VRAM hog. I noticed around 4-5GB out of my 6GB.

The game has horrible negative Crossfire support, and no 21:9 support either. At 3440x1440 it would just zoom in and only make 1080p visible cutting off everything else on the screen.
Hmm interesting...not sure what my issue is. I am running beta catalyst drivers but wouldn't have thought that would cause the issues I had. I had Tess off and AA off too on medium and was still getting dire frame rates.

I'm currently still on Catalyst 14.9, I've yet to install the Beta drivers.

had a few games there with randoms, all times the monster won, 1st game there was zero communication and it was apparent people (myself included) had no clue what was going on.

I seem to be favouring support, even if ive been playing as random selection ive been enjoying the support guy, havent played the monster yet.

Your medic really seems to be the main target for the monster to take out so the support they have seems to be key to winning.

One thing which suprised me is just how quick the games are, i expected it to be 20-30mins but seems like most are 10 at most, more to load and get through the tutorial screens than to fight.

Also from the previews i seen much was made of how alive the worlds were with creatures etc, and they do appear to be however so much of the maps are just skipped in the mad rush to get to the monster.

Im hoping that closer to the games release we see more game modes maybe where the hunters have to bed in and defend an area rather than chasing all the time.

Its promising to me and i was really hoping for that L4D feel, doesnt seem to have that spark just yet but will definately give it more time before i write it off.

Maps to small
loading twice once in lobby once in game
Run around chasing monster for 5 mins
Battle
End

Did i miss anything?

Getting wierd freezes in game. The game freezes and I lose connection to the game and I revert back to the lobby after a couple of minutes.

I am playing on my gigabyte laptop and the GPU temp reaches around 85C and then freezes, however in BF4, my temps reach 86 - 88 and I am still playing fine. Not sure why the game is freezing on me. Any advice would help

any solution to this problem ? Would appreciate a response :)

Aren't most of those... well... the game?

If the maps were too big you'd never find the Monster or you'd need more mechanics to help with it which might just over complicate things.

The game system could do with streamlining somewhat. It was a little glitchy earlier also but then alpha.

Chasing the monster is kinda the point of the game  I've mostly played the Monster and if you get caught early on and have a particularly bad fight even if you get away the impact on your hp can sway the later battles once you're evolved. I won one game literally by the skin of my teeth, down to possibly 1% hp and killed the last Hunter.

Anyway, onto my experience of the game. I've played maybe 10-15 games so far, only one as Hunter (Medic) and for some reason the game had horrific FPS lag that time. Its occasionally had problems as the Monster but the Medic was very badly stuttering. Might have to lower the graphics just in case.

Really good fun. Got to grips with some basic tactics for evasion early on (though its hard to say how effective I'm being without experience of the Hunters tracking mechanics). Had some truly horrific rounds where I got caught badly Stage 1, even though I got away the damage really messes you up even if you make it to Stage 3.

Unlocked the Kraken and had a couple of games on that. Freakin' OP! Least its felt that way so far. You can fly quite far which makes tracking difficult (I believe anyway) and your combat abilities are lethal.

Had my first game today. Quite confusing and the performance wasn't great - my PC isn't the highest spec these days though (6970 at 1440p is showing it's age :p).

Not sure what I think of it. Playing with 4 people that know what they're doing could be fun I guess.

It looks quite good graphically actually. I really enjoy playing the monster, but if you are a hunter with a bad medic or trapper you are screwed. Medic MUST use tranquilizer darts so you can catch up, and trapper to keep him in one spot. The other two are fairly straight forwards in terms of shoot and run. Once monster evolves you are pretty buggered if you haven't already got his health and armor down.

Monster protip: Sneak. Run in one direction then sneak off back on yourself and climb upwards. If you can get the hunters off your tail long enough to evolve once or twice then it's in the bag. And if daisy catches up with you take her down to prevent revives when you close it down.

Hopefully this will work with crossfire because it's a bit low at times on the FPS :(

No crossfire support as of yet. In fact, there's negative scaling to a severe amount.

I'm sure support will be added nearer the release of the game, Ryse took a while to get support on the same Engine as well.
