Evolve thread

Had a bit of fun playing this last night (managed to get 5 of us in the lobby and I happen to prefer playing monster). One of the guys had preordered and some of the latter assault characters are really powerful. I was on a perfect win streak until he started using one with a rocket launcher. It's good fun, but I just feel like I would get bored of it quickly. It looks great, the concept is great, it's not buggy, there's a good mix of stealth and combat, and yet it feels like it lacks depth. Maybe just needs more maps

YEESSS!! It was just sitting pretty in my Steam library and I think it's due to the 'always access beta' code I used initially but I do also own L4D and Bioshock Infinite.

Not bothered to download and play this yet but it really does seem like the sort of thing that would get boring after a few hours :/

It's a shame really, in the past beta I played the hell out of this but after jumping back in today I was really surprised by becoming so bored so fast.

Worryingly they've added more content; two new hunters, a new map, a new monster and even a new mode... but it's still boring. Which says a lot.

Compound that with the absolutely disgusting pre-order incentives that we're seeing in 2015 and I'm not picking this up until way after release.

Ive cancelled my pre-order with Amazon, could'nt be bothered to download the beta after I played the alpha and there doesn't appear to be any more content other than a couple of more monster's/hunters, pity as the game play is good but it's just lacking in substance, feels like Titanfall all over for me, the novelty wore off very quickly on that one and I haven't played it in atleast 8 months.

Here's what saddens me; if they hadn't provided an open Beta and only released well crafted promotional videos, I'd be willing to bet they'd have sold a lot more copies.

Those sensible individuals amongst us would have held back to read reviews for at least a week after release but a lot more would pre-order this especially considering it's the next release from (a lot of) the Left4Dead team. Makes no sense pre-ordering but folks still do it.

We want to encourage developers to allow us to try the product before purchasing but when they do they get slapped in the face. No wonder we don't see demo's on PC anymore or more major titles allowing open beta testing.

I like this the more I play it, its been a while since I've been in work and cant wait yo home to play it, I might even buy it on release if its sensibly priced and I've not done that since BF4

I agree - the more I play the more I liked it. I find it strange that people are complainig about the lack of depth and that it got samey. There are a huge amount of tactics available depending on the combinations of hunters you choose and I've only played as the Goliath monster, but still fnding out new tricks and tactics.

Playing the monster is the only exciting aspect of the game and the reason why you have ONLY played the monster
