May has taken a position - we are leaving no matter if we get a good deal, a bad deal or (worse) no deal. Corbin has taken a position that we will take a deal no matter what we are given.

Neither is the best decision, but doe to not wanting to go back on the leave decision, no matter the consequences both have boxed themselves into a corner.

If you criticise Corbybs decision to announce he will take a deal whatever then the same criticism needs to be levelled at May for her open stance.

not really - given that we are leaving then accepting a deal at any cost is fine to criticise without having to criticise the other... you don't need to create an equivalence every time someone criticises something.

Surely whether a deal is good or bad will simply be a matter of maths?

that, and ideology. e.g does the deal fit the ideology of the political mantra that has been spouted for the last 24 months, if not what damage does it cause to my re-election chances. i think the ideology will be more important than the maths in this one

Always worth picking up on hypocrisy.

I don't see how it is necessarily hypocrisy - if you're of the opinion that we're going to be leaving then it is perfectly valid to support one option over the other and to criticise that other option.

We'll take no deal.

Though i think May is selfish enough to do that and make the EU a big bad villain and a scapegoat for any near future terrible happenings so she can ride out her short term before the milk goes really sour, there are too many others who are waiting their turn to run the show to let it sour so quickly and so i think we would sooner see a vote of no confidence than May actually pulling off a 'no deal' and coming out like a martyr of a bad situation in the short term.

I think likely we will be spoon fed some rubbish that we have secured radical changes in governing certain policies where in reality the governing system is just a bit more muddied and we strike a deal that realistically gives us more or less what we have now.

Neither party is inspiring at present with the choice of Comrade Corbyn flushing me down the toilet with taxes or May Bot slowly drowning me with Brexit. Lifeboat and jacket sorted out so I've stayed loyal and voted for our Conservative candidate who is a good guy.

Really looking forward to another 4 years of cuts, just want we need.

I wouldn't mind so much is debt levels were dropping but their not, just empty promises for the future.

debt levels won't drop unless the deficit is eliminated - are you saying you'd prefer even bigger cuts?

Yes please. I want to see massive cuts to the NHS so I can watch the poor die from treatable illness and laugh at under nourished kids. Will be like an awesome historical documentary that sky can then kick a franchise out on.

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2009/may/27/expenses-meps-european-parliament

Been going on since the 90's, can't remember the name of the Dutch politician that 1st spoke out about it, makes our expenses scandals looks like childs play.

Yeah, its an easy go to.

What is funny is that we have had a say and the people we send there refuse to participate, therefore wasting our input and in turn we then say tht we have no say in anything.

Now we will strike a deal that gives us less say but we will purposely impose more expensive layers of British government involved in EU politics to muddy the decision process and essentially make it look like we have more power.

It's fine to disagree with him for his position based on your position/opinion, but to criticize the fact he actually said it openly, without acknowledging that the same criticism should be levelled at May is another matter.

Most of the people criticizing him for saying it openly are also the ones that stood up and "cheered" when May said "Brexit is Brexit" and that we will leave without a deal if need be. That is hypocracy.

But it isn't hypocrisy, you're trying to draw some equivalence where there isn't one. They are different positions and it is fine to support one and criticise the other, that really shouldn't be too hard to understand.

Some people seem to interchange debt and deficit like they are one and the same. My Facebook is full of it... Then these same people vote based on something they clearly know very little about.

You sound like my over the top Labour supporting friend. You can't make out that other parties (I assume you're referring to the Tories in this case) hate the poor just because they have a different method to sort out the debt this country has.
