F1 2009 Season discussion/development thread

Ooooh "love" not been called that for a while!
Im only letting you off cos you've been working hard all winter mind :p

Not for a few months now. Plus the information is freely available within certain circles,as im sure is the case at Renault to. You would probably know more about it than me as its your system we are working with.

I still write the cure programs as nobody else can debug the cures live, but now i work more with the DO and engineering. This week i begin intensive Adobe illustrator CS4 training in preperation for moving over to DO/Marketing on a permanent basis.

Perks of having one of your drinking buddies as the head of manafacturing.

 I've been looking forward to the F1 on for a week now thinking it was on tomorrow :( Imagine my disappointment when I find I must wait yet another week !

Some people have the coolest jobs :(

I'm pretty sure that when you get to the crux of what CSl does, he probably spends a lot of time hunched over a desk (on a computer, from the sounds of it) and works very hard.

It may sound glamorous when he drops names like M.Webber and S.Vettel, but its not fun and games. (EG. some people think being a porn actor is the coolest job in the world, yet, when we see documentaries of how they make these movies, getting an erection on command, in full view of the camera crew, isnt as glamorous as it first appears).

Maybe his job really is that great and perhaps CSl can give us some insight into just how "fun and cool" his job really is?

Been reading the FOTA recommendations have we? Wish the FIA would!

this is the thing, The FOTA and all the fans wanted a updated point system. FIA wanted medals. so Medals is what we got (for a few days anyway lol).

why the FIA never listens i dont know.

Pretty much summed it up sunama, it can be a great job what with models doing photo shoots, film crews and celebs walking around ! Then on the flipside you can be working 7 day weeks for a couple of months to get the car ready. We just finished a run of 35 days without a day off.

Dont get me wrong, i would not want it any different as i know that in the Summer i will be working 5 hours a day,4 days a week.

Lol, equating working in F1 to getting erections on demand, ingenius :p

I've been an aerodynamicist for nearly 3 years now and I wouldn't swap it for anything. I do work long-ish hours and it can feel repetitive sometimes but it's hugely interesting + challenging every day.

I sit in an office (a rather cool one at that) in front of a few computers and it certainly isn't filled with pit lane glamour (though I do sit about 10m away from an R26!) - but it is by far the best engineering job I could possibly think of.

NicktheNorse & CS||nuTs, how do you guys feel when one of your cars does well/wins, I'd imagine you'd get a great feeling that you were a part of that?

Just curious as I'd imagine that, the level of technology aside, that is what would be best about working for an F1 team, working towards something that you've actually got a genuine interest in, rather than working towards something which means nothing other than the pay cheque...
