F1 2009 Season discussion/development thread

Why does Bernie see the need to charge so much to host a GP, it's not like he is short of cash.
Depends how much he loses in the divorce case ;)

But seriously; he has an event that people (Countries) are buying and queuing up for to host for £xx million then you’re not going to sell it for any less.
Apple and M$ have £bn’s but that doesn’t mean people who can’t afford an iPod or Windows get it for 50% less.

Yes, but most of the new tracks will either be lame.... Valencia!!!! or something new/revolutionary like Singapore.

While the European tracks are great 90% of the time. 10% being Barcelona and Valencia. :p

There may not be a Honda F1 team for much longer if the rumours are to be believed.....

If the team is not sold by Christmas then it will be closed down is the current one.

Which operation - the F1 Team or the car factory in Swindon which has already been confirmed as closing from Feb - March 09 ?

But they have been utter bobbins for too long now, just like Toyota, it can't have had the effect they hoped and in the current climate it’s no surprise. This is what happens when you build a sport around manufacturers as when it suits them they will leave and decimate your sport. If it’s not working for them they’re out, no loyalty in business. DTM, Touring Cars, Sports Cars, CART and many other formula’s have been killed by lack of manufacturer support. They bite the hands that feed them, don’t look at it as anything other than business (understandably) and therefore compromise is not something that works well.

The world is tough right now, everywhere and F1 is going to get a kick in the tudds like everyone else.
