F1 2009 Season discussion/development thread

Thats better, much closer.
Oh, and out of curiosity, what spec are torro running the 2008 car in? Are they testing any 2009 stuff on it, slicks perhaps? Are they just allowing the drivers to get some miles?

When will they get their hands on an RB5 (STR4?) chassis to drive?

March, maybe late February at a push.

I bet it will take a while to clean up the track after that!

Is that a Renault in the picture? Cant work out with the 'new' look :p

Tis something I have been pondering for a short time.. maybe they think no one will notice?

We can only assume its because it's not working correctly :p They presumably dont want to waste time while they are sorting it out, so setting up the 08 rear wing to 09 supposed grip levels lets them get some milage under the chassis...

Anyone got any other ideas?

“Fine weather meant Heikki was able to rack up 110 laps throughout the day, including several longer runs as both the team and driver became more comfortable with the car’s balance,” the team said in a statement.
“Without a high-downforce 2009-spec rear wing, the team opted to run with a modified 2008 rear wing. The KERS programme ran smoothly throughout the day.”

Hope so! I bet they are glad the other teams have been a bit hampered in pre-season testing whilst they have been sidelined.

If this is true, THANK GOD F1 isnt on ITV anymore. Tha last thing we need is Fat Head going on and on and on and on about the "return of the Senna name to F1" and all the garbage he would chat with it.

Hopefully BBC will tone down the 'Hamilton is Senna', 'Vettel is Schumacher', and this year 'Senna is Senna' comparisons that ITV were so annoying for. It seems you cant be just 'A great F1 driver' anymore, you have the be 'the modern version of a great F1 driver'...

sorry, /rant

Please be true.
I just want the Honda speculation over :(

Senna and Button could be a good combo, perhaps we will finallly see Button in a half decent car? As said earlier, with the testing being hampered so much so far, it might give them a bit of a chance to get back on track (pardon the pun)
