F1 Testing 2012 - Week 2, Barcelona

Gear rule is for 2014. Fixed ratio's all season.

Current rules are maximum of 30 ratio's available all season, all of which must be defined and declared to the FIA prior to the first event. As far as I know, this is the same as last year.

tried to make an image with the side profiles for all the cars but couldnt fine photos taken from the same angle :(

doesnt seem to be that many photos in the public domain yet


heres the best i could do (some cars are missing) obviouslt caterham isnt that small either :P

caterham is in twice. first pic is the jerez car
 
Love how thin the Mercecdes nose is.

On a different note, has anyone reported that Renualt will miss the rest of the test now, due to a chassis problem.

I guess they'll get to do some private testing at some point.
 
Looks like there is a speed trap out there, and McLaren are currently fastest through it.

10:17 Much slower second lap for Hamilton, but again he's fastest in the speed trap - this time in S3

ill do a better one if i notice someone has taken photos of all the cars at the same angle/peice of track like they did last year

the mclarens sidepods seem really high and bulky compared to the others?

btw duke can you please add http://f1tests.co.cc/2012.php?rev=on to the list of places to view testing times , on that one if you scroll down you can see every individual lap time they did

i reckon some teams can easily do a high 1:21.XXX like i suspected earlier in the thread :D maybe even a 1:21.500 or close to it

sauber and force india doing 1:22.6XX just reinforces it for me
 
They will easily do that when they put the softer tyres on which Pirelli brought to this test.
 
No problem on a Mac :)

A little alarming to see the Merc is not quick out of the box, not that anyone is chasing times or anything ;) Force India seem very settled - fast and reliable. Clearly red bull just motoring around, matching other teams that set times on softs using mediums!
