F1 Testing 2012 - Week 3, Barcelona

Here's the supposed McLaren version of the front wing "W duct"

mclaren_fw_details.jpg

Apparently many other teams are currently planning/undergoing front end crash tests, suggesting more W ducts.

One of these teams is reportedly Ferrari who also have apparently crash tested some new side pods. Bit of a gamble if so.

RBR have confirmed they are using the 'B spec' chassis they ran in the last 2 days of testing for Melbourne.

that slot on the mclaren looks like a reflection from the sidepod.

i dont believe anyone actually has a W duct until we see someone with a lot of speed on the straights at melbourne.

marko (redbul guy everyone hates) claims mercedes activates when they pen the DRS but i dont see how that would work and surely it would be considered driver activated if that was the case.

I doubt we will ever get Skeeter to admit the FIA don't apply the rules very well no matter how many examples he is given. So on that we have to admit the FIA are brilliant and keeping F1 on the straight and narrow right :D

I think its more a case of your just to stubborn to even try to understand what I'm trying to say, instead preferring to pick out points you can argue against for the hell of it.

More fool me for thinking people might actually want to discuss things. It seems the more popular reason for coming on here is to try to win "I won an argument" points. I'm fairly certain if you pulled your fingers out of your ears and stopped going "la la la I can't hear you" every time someone says something (especially anything against your beloved Ferrari) then you would see there is actually some sensible conversations to be had.

Good find, thanks for posting.

So why did you not answer my point about the EBD if you wanted to discuss it? Seems to me rather than discuss it you have just thrown your toys out the pram and launched into an attack on me.....

I never have hidden my support for Ferrari, not sure why you think that is some sort of bone to pick at? Is it a problem for you that I support Ferrari?

The FIA imposed a rule for Silverstone. Then then removed it again for the rest of the season. So once again, they never knowingly let teams brake the rules. Which is what I have been saying all along.

And I have no issue with who anyone supports. I have issue with your constant denial that things are anything but absolute bliss at Ferrari and your immediate attack on anyone who dares suggests otherwise.

The FIA said EBD was illegal and against the rules, yet let it carry on as long as the teams agreed.

I don't know why you make things up, at no point have I said all is bliss at Ferrari, so how about you stick to what is being said :)

This is getting boring now.

But its how all F1 threads go, just with new testing combatants. It wouldn't be the F1 bit of the forum without a mindless debate over almost nothing for a very very long time. (with some cool information and useful pictures spliced into the mix to make it even more F1 fun)

So true :D

The FIA do not let illegal cars race. They may change the rules race by race or day by day changing if things are or aren't illegal, or simply change their mind. What's considered legal one day may be illegal the next. But they do not let illegal cars race. If they did it would destroy the entire foundation F1 is built on.

The FIA do not deem a car illegal at a specific point in time, and still let it race at that same point in time. End of. If you are to stubborn to try and get your head round that then that's your problem. I have spent 3 pages trying to explain what I thought was a simple concept to you, yet you refuse to listen.

I'm done.

FIA said EBD was illegal and broke the moveable aero rules, they said it would be banned for the Spanish GP (certain teams whinged they said ok you have till Silverstone), yet let it continue after Silverstone as the teams agreed, therefore illegal cars were sanctioned to run and the FIA done nothing, if you can't accept that then really it's not my fault :)

I refuse to listen? yet you have just skirted past all the examples you have been given, I am glad you are done :) cause so am I as it's going nowhere.
