Factorio on steam

no help on the factorio steam discussions so I will post here..

I am running a dedi server in windows I don't run this 24/7 so its always going up and down so I have noticed this causes problems with the save.zip file I use as the server dosn't save to this file it uses the 3 auto save slots so I have tryed to fix this by renaming the save file to _autosave1.zip and setting autosave_slots=1 in config BUT it still saves to all 3 slots how do I force it to only save to 1 slot?

found the answer got this list of server commands very useful :)

Server options:
--latency N multiplayer server latency, in ticks
--latency-ms N multiplayer server latency, in milliseconds
--autosave-interval N (=2) server autosave interval, in minutes
--autosave-slots N (=3) server autosave slots
--disallow-commands disallow use of the command console
--peer-to-peer use peer-to-peer communication
--no-auto-pause don't automatically pause when no players are connected

This game is simply superb. The depth and nuances really are excellent.

This is how PC gaming should be. If I'd paid £30 I wouldn't mind.

OP thank you so much for bringing this to my attention.

I've personally put hundreds of hours into this game (before steam release), whereas a £40+ game on steam I will usually play for 6 hours or less before I get bored.

I think it's great value.

Yeah same, this game is amazing, well worth £15. I always buy full price games and barely play them.

I'm in on the "Chuffin' Brilliant" bandwagon. Started again on Friday and now have a much better spaced start position, must more organised and with planned expansion build in mind from the start. Once you start getting into petrochem it really ramps up! Great game and thanks OP for the heads up.

Bought Friday night after steam recommended it to me! Don't remember the weekend, it's just a blur of conveyors, factories, flasks and cogwheels.

No game has grabbed me and engaged my OCD side to such a life-devouring extent since Anno 1404 & Heroes 3.

Am I being dumb or is there some where which tells you what components do?
Ie the combinations, unless I need other research to make the most of them.

I've been wondering this too, not much information on the tooltips. I've got a great albeit messy red and green research chain going on but don't want to start the oil stuff until know what everything is for.

if you hover above new items in ur build menu it shows their ingredients. Same with research itll show new items you can craft after researching and their required componants.

Simply put u need plastic, lots of plastic for red chips and blue chips and tonnes of green chips.

What's with the tutorial? Go mine some iron it says. Sits there holding rmb for 5 minutes. Forget it!

So I wasted 2 hours figuring out what to do in main game. Now I have one conveyor belt in a loop with everything on it.

When do the aliens show up?

I too would buy this if it wasn't 15 quid I've heard only good things about it so far.

Its worth every penny, I bought it before if came out on steam for 10€ but it's easily worth £15
I must have put over 200 hours into this, I'm on my 3rd game now but playing in peaceful mode so I cam concentrate on factory building & not have the biters attacking my factory every 5 minutes
