Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

Fallout 4 CPU benchmark thread(need some Zen3 and Zen4 results!)

Expanded some of the columns to show the full test (it was not possible the read that the top rank had SMT off for instance):

Will have to start culling some results as the table image is just too large now.

The ideal thing would be an embedded sorted list but do not think vbulletin's table can do those and the tables it can do would lose all the colour.

Two new 7800X3D results over on the AT thread:

Quite a spread between them. One is a 4080 while the other is a 7900 XTX - might be the Radeon DX11 overhead at play?

Doubt it, that's a thing of the past. AMD driver has less overhead than Nvidia. More logical explanation is the game has always been very favourable to green. Also, it's so old that no optimisation would have gone into it from a software perspective in a very long time.

@KompuKare Didn't Nvidia try to do implement some form of multi-threading for their DX11 drivers?

Edit!!

But the Radeon 7000 series result with the Ryzen 7 7800X3D,is a huge improvement over the Ryzen 7 5800X3D with a RX5700XT. The improvement seems more than with an Nvidia RTX3000 series dGPU going from a Ryzen 7 5800X3D to a Ryzen 7 7800X3D.

Some results from my junkbox

Thanks,
that gets you at #50 in the chart which is about 44% of the max scores. Not that bad for a cheaper CPU, a bit ahead of the 10400 and just behind even a 5700X.

Yet another 7800X3D entry.
Corvega Draw Calls: 11698 FPS: 126.2
Diamond City Draw Calls: 7998 FPS: 150.0

CPU: 7800X3D PBO OC -20
RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 6000 XMP 30-40-40-96
GPU: RTX 3080ti OS: Windows 10

(I updated to 7800X3D just so I can play Fallout 4 VR without stutters. Thanks to everyone who posted results that gave me the confidence to choose the 7800X3d over intel.)

You almost doubled your Fallout 4 performance!

So you've jumped from #54 to #9 and yours is the best 7800X3D we have seen so far.

Your near doubling of FO4 score is pretty consistent between S1 and S2:

Not the cheapest upgrade, but for playing FO4 (and this mostly scales to Skyrim too), this is a great result.

New post over on AT:
User yuke improved their rankings from #25 to #2. Mostly be swapping from a 7900 XTX to an RTX 2080:

DX12 is one thing, but for DX11 it seems that for FO4 the Radeon drivers have an overhead problem.

A bit of a concern for me as I still play the game. I hope the Anniversary Edition or whatever it is called is better optimised!

Man. It doesn't look like I bought myself much.

11700 -- 60
8000 -- 73

RX 6800 (Came from 1070....0 (zero) fps diff)
Ryzen 5 7600 (Came from 4770k.....20fps diff)?

XPG LANCER RGB DDR5 Desktop Memory: 32GB (2x16GB) 6000 MHz CL40-40-40

My previous results.
11700 -- 40fps.
8000 -- 47fps.
DDR3/RX 6800/4770k.

The result seems kinda low.....

You checked other benchmarks like cinebench? aida64
ram latency test, to make sure your rig is performing correctly.
