Fallout: New Vegas

Doesn't look like it :( When I speak to him he's got the dialogue options from before the 'Eyesight to the Blind' quest, where you ask him what he'll do as Elder, and he says lift the lockdown...

I'm going to try to see if there's a way to complete the mission using the console - do you know any place that might list how to do it?

Can anyone confirm at what point you get the NCR and BoS to work together? I'm guessing this was the patch that caused this - some other weirdness took place whereby the Victor I killed in Novac disappeared.

*cries like only a sad geek can*

you carn't get the BOS to aid the NRC if you change the Elder.

Have you been back to him since finishing the quest?
I thought I had the same bug as he said it will take a few days to lift the lock down and no other Dialog. But if you exit the bunker and then talk to him. you get the next dialog

Went into Ceasars base to get the dog brain and they started attacking me :(

Ended up killing them all including Ceasar and found the chip!

Is anyone else finding that the game gets easier and easier as you progress? I started with medium difficutly on hardcore and found areas quite challenging - now i'm nearly lv 30 i'm playing on very hard and there's no challenge at all. Perhaps the gun skill is overpowered?

Was wondering that last night, as Veronica and I killed 4.5 deathclaws (0.5 for a young 'un) at lvl 9 and walked away. I know she's locked at lvl 12, but funny watching her getting knocked out by deathclaws too.

Got wiped out by a young deathclaw at lvl 2 (although didn't scare me as much as walking up to a landmine, looking directly at it, only for it to go BANG! in my face - literally jumped out of my seat!).

Am thinking that we all start out as a jack of all trades, and as we level up become more specialised and deadly, whilst the NPC's continue to level up as a jack of all trades (speculating on the NPC's here).

My strategy is to use Veronica as distraction, setting her to aggressive, and me with a rifle. Sneak in where ever, get a critical kill on the 1st, and then attack the next creature and in goes Veronica - she get's all the aggro and I pick off at a distance. Do use the topography to, coming in over he hills. For close combat, I switch to pistols.

Have invested in guns and sneak for this at the moment.

Same as FO3. As a poster above pointed out, I think part of the reason is that we specialise our characters, stack bonuses, focus on particular weapons/skills etc and thus take full advantage of our level ups. Also from my perspective ammo is a problem in the early part of the game whereas it is almost trivial later on, then add in the fact that you start the game without a companion (I'm sure I'd find some areas tougher without Boone alongside me, half the time he's headshotting people before I've even seen them).

its a nice game, like the other one was...they changed a few bits through like mags are only temp which got me to start off with than I relised they didn't change that at all......you now got magazins which are temp than of course the books.* starts collecting mags* :p

also the bloody thing keeps crashing, just like the old one

Is it me, or are energy weapons pretty ineffective in this game compared to Fallout3?

I found a lot of weapons ineffective due to the Damage threshold thing, sometimes you're up against like a giant radscorpion pack and most of the basic weapons like smgs/laser pistol/.357 etc seemed to barely scathe them, you queue up all your AP in VATS mode and knock off like 25% of their health only.

Has anybody else noticed how the "followers outpost" is like the Tardis? :p

From the outside it's a tiny shed, from the inside it's FAR bigger... Kind of amusing. I'm sure that other locations are like this, but because the outpost is so small from the outside it seems really exaggerated!

Just finished one play through and picking NCR.. very good overall apart from the odd mission glitch.

Really looking forward to playing evil and melee this time around

Well there we are then, just finished the first play through - chose the Mr House ending which wasn't so bad as I thought. After a break will try playing again from a different angle (maybe as the Legion sympathiser) though I may buy the guide book to assist in finding all the odd side quests.

Very enjoyable experience, though IMHO maybe not quite as good as the Fallout 3 experience. I'm hoping the DLC will unlock the ending so you can carry on after completing the main campaign.

Also just finished it - 72 hours later :p Superb game, everything I'd hoped for, though not without its faults. I'm not one of those people that can play through again, so it'll be late December when the DLC comes out that I'll have another pop at it :)
