Far Cry Primal

I think it looks great, it's just a spiritual successor (like a spin off).

A key aspect of the recent far cry games was the hunting side, so they've appeared to make a game based around that - I'd imagine there will be a Witcher 3 style 'tracking system' - hunting large prey, fighting other tribes & becoming a chieftain type figure.

They will continue the normal Far Cry series, that will be Far Cry 5 - this is just a side project.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not writing the game off completely. And to be honest, I don't really want them to continue "standard" Far Cry as I'm rather bored with the series.

I'm just worried that Primal will feel exactly the same as a stripped down FC4 with a different skin. Also, I'm not exactly sure how the plot will work in this one.

Disappointing for me, Farcry with no guns, no vehicles & no intelligent voice overs other than grunts
Basically it'll end up as an animal hunting game

maybe a modern guy gets transported back in time as in Assasin Creed

yes, Far Cry is a shooter set on a tropical island or similar, it's not Fred Flintstone, they've made a big mistake here.....they'll loose loads of fans.

the fans wanted a combination of Dinosaurs and FC1......but this latest game looks boring, i.e you cant compare a herd of dumb Wolly Mammoths, to a highly intelligent pack of Raptors or a T.Rex.

i would have done a game similar to Jurassic park..........you versus Dinosaurs and Trophy game hunters

No you cant, but thats probably why they have included a Sabre-toothed cat in the game. For that predator/prey relationship.

I imagine there will be other predators from nature too, Mosasaur's in the water anyone? :D

I actually think this could be ok as a shorter stand alone provided it doesn't drag out too long, I absolutely loved blood dragon.

I do wonder if we might see a blood dragon 2 at any point in the future, not holding out much hope though.

This looks like its trying to pip ark survival before its out but i cant imagine it incorporating the same game mechanics so well with it being ubisoft.

a Sabre tooth aint enough to save the game, it's just a remodelled tiger, likewise the Mammoth is just a remodelled elephant straight from FC 4.

now you see what they're up to, Ubi are just rehashing FC4 on the cheap

to be honest it's a bloody disgrace !!!!!!!!!

only the 1st and 3rd game are any good, the 4th was plain annoying, it had far too many animals attacking you.

i wish somebody would make another FEAR.

If Ubisoft were to revive another genre I would love for them to give us the lowdown on Beyond Good and Evil or at least sell the franchise to someone else to work on.

I would love to see another FEAR too

FEAR is maybe the best shooter ever made, but looks really old now and wont run on Win 8.1

best bet for next year is deffo Dishonored 2........DOOM and maybe if released Serious Sam 4 .

i'm keeping an eye on Fallout 4 but only if it has proper shooting mechanics, i wont touch it if i have to freeze the screen and select my guns via the Pitboy..

it has to be 1..2...3...4 like Far Cry or it'll drive me crazy

Far Cry 5 would be too soon, 4 has only been out a bit. So a spin off is more suited.

I'm not so sure, it could be excellent if worked well - its all about the execution with this one, it will require something beyond the usual "quest to kill this, do this" - perhaps more emphasis on survival, tribe management, making it through the seasons. If it managed that it could be great.

I'm just pleased it's going to be something different.

i dont think it'll be different at all, because judging from all the recent games, this will be the same as FC4 but without guns and Radio towers....

this will be FC4 set in the year 10000 BC, fairly obvious isn't it ;)

FC3 was great.
FC3 Blood Dragon was great because it was off the wall and different.
FC4 was pants because it was just an FC3 rehash that wasn't as good.
So FCP could be good, because its off the wall and different again.

I will probably give this a go.
