US: Fear the Walking Dead

They are in the suburbs so it would take a few days for the walkers from the urban centre to reach them. Plus, the army is mopping the area up. I think the current situation seems fairly plausible.

Still don't particularly buy it myself. Too quiet. It's not even like there are bodies scattered everywhere. The suburbs are connected to the city, filled with people... where did they all go?

The arena is a bit of a weak plot I feel. An excuse for this problem, 2,000 zombies pouring out, but that wouldn't be the same everywhere.

with a population of around 19 million in greater LA, I would have thought things would be a LOT busier than they have been but there again, the main TWD series is guilty of that too.

Exactly. I can of course look past it, but I'm just a little disappointed they cheated to make a good show rather than showing how it could actually happen.

I'll wait and hope you can watch it in one go, seems kinda pointless to bother breaking it down into <1 min episodes to me...

Definitely. Just as you get to grips with what's going on in the episode... find out next week. Ridiculous.

True, I remember a series or 2 back Darryl and some other folk were out in a car and they rounded a corner into a wrecked road. Across it was a mega horde of zombies for miles. Then it never showed them again :(

Slow episode. I can't imagine there is enough time for the world to go completely to pot in the next 60 minutes.

What did the soldier mean by a humane way to terminate the populous?!

That army squad is about one punch away from a mutiny and now it appears their leader is dead, so I doubt the evac would be smooth. Also if the army's solution is to kill the people they can't protect why do they bother having a containment facility and hospital :confused:

Its not something the show portrays very well but the containment system, hospitals, etc. would have been setup when the army were in "control" of the situation, as the number of infected increase and their numbers decrease the ability to clear large areas diminishes and they are slowly (or not so slowly in the end) over-run - hence when it becomes clear they are fighting a losing battle they will terminate vulnerable people (who'd easily turn into infected) to decrease the number of potential threats they face.

Study the effects the virus has on people perhaps? How quickly they turn etc

Yeah it's like the other 18.5 million people have just vanished.

I could tell from the get go this wasn't going to be good but finally caught up with the 4th episode and safe to say I'm giving up on this. Since I do watch most things with zombies I will probably binge it at some point in the future when season is over but this isn't worth the time at the moment when we have so much quality TV produced nowadays.

Story in this episode is so implausible it hurts, still don't care about any characters and now we have caricature stereotypes thrust onto us. I've also seen mid season replacement shows with better production values, it's just lazy cover up to use the awful haze filter over everything and execution is sloppy on all fronts of the story.

If this wasn't affiliated with the TWD franchise it wouldn't receive anywhere near the response it has, you can already see most user scores starting to slide on IMDB and Metacritic.

Wow simply wow :eek:

Thoroughly enjoyed the finale. It answered a few questions.

Here a few thoughts

Unfortunately not THE question hopefully they will expand towards it in season two. Hoping more on the origin of the infection.

Characters
Travis = Started Rick initiation program.

Daniel = Badass Carol.

Strand = the Shane eqivilant

^^ I don't think they ever intend to cover the origin side of it too closely - might see a little more in season 2 but not gonna satisfy those who want more detail IMO.

Finale was good, think we could all see several things coming but they did them pretty well.

Well after some quite slow episodes (not necessarily a bad thing) they really sent this season off with a bang. Excellent finale and it's left me wanting more. :)

Yeah, really enjoyed the finale. I did not know that it was going to be only 6 episodes for this season, was sad to find that out.

To be honest I really enjoyed every episode. The slow pace is a breath of fresh air as TV watching goes. Can't stand action action action, then some more meaningless action these days.

The cast grew on me slowly, but I was initially a bit disappointed. I actually quite like the johnny depp kid. Reading the thread I cracked up how you guys kept saying change your clothes!! He had so many opportunities to change them. If season 2 starts with him wearing the same clothes I will crack up laughing :D

Great show, can't wait for season 2 :)

Good finale.
I wonder if (hector?) feels guilty about killing a whole base of people to save his already dead wife :p
