US: Fear the Walking Dead

Watched the first 5 episodes last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. I love the fact it's about the start of the epidemic and how those not infected survived. I'm not sure how long they will be able to carry the series unless they do it like a 24 style series. Even the walking dead is a day-by-day thing isn't it?!

Good finale.
I wonder if (hector?) feels guilty about killing a whole base of people to save his already dead wife :p

Hector = Daniel. Was thinking the same thing but i personally dont think he cares. He was so casual. "you might want to save those bullets" lol.
The Super herd was incredible. You wanted masses and there they were.!!

One slight thing was the soldiers just spraying and hardly any of the walkers dropped at the fence.

travis got a whole lot more interesting real quick :D

Rick initiating program. it was well done learning consequences to your inactions in this "crazy world" as Stand put it.

Strand is an awesome character. I guess he will go to the boat and find it occupied or something, as I can't see them having a series 'on the water' so to speak.

Fantastic final episode! wasn't really trying to pick holes in it, just enjoyed it :-)

Loved it when the Soldier ran head first into the choppers blades after he's been bitten! hehe!

Good tension when Jonny Depp clone and Morgan Freeman voiceover was trapped when the doors locked with Zombie's coming ever closer.

Travis got a lot more interesting now I think

Can't wait for season 2 now!

Think i'll watch the Flight 16 episodes in one go. Bit silly being around 1min per :-/

Doing the same. I did watch the first one, just to see if it was worth taking it bit by bit (giggity) but by the time I had taken anything in, it ended, just like that. I would understand if it was say, six 5-minute-ish chunks, but 18 1-ish minute chunks is just bloody ridiculous.

Thought the finale was a good end point and I'll look forward to season 2. However; the way it was sold, maybe not from the producers but in general from critic and tv sites was that the series would focus on the outbreak and it hasn't really done that in my opinion. It pretty much felt as if they tried to hard to cram the outbreak into the series - couple of unreported incidents, big tv coverage of a police shooting when paramedics were trying to save someone, city wide riot, power cut, US Army being *********.

But the way they have left it after 6 episodes is pretty much just a rehash of TWD in different city. On top of that, Rick and the group have been on the go for ages since Rick woke up in hospital and unless they accelerate the timeline in FTWD (which is now at the point of S01E01 TWD), surely we know that it's a case of run, someone dies, run some more, find a safe haven, fight of walkers, someone dies, fight of humans, someone dies, run, rinse, repeat as there is no known cure.

I will still watch it and look forward to it but I wouldn't be surprised if season 2 fails for doing the above, it would take an awful lot to grow attached to the FTWD charachters to a point beyond Darryll, Rick and Carol and if the groups ever did meet I'd be mightily displeased losing one of TWD characters at the expense of one of the FTWD guys. I'm just struggling to see how they can successfully integrate the two shows (if they decide to do) and how they can successfully be original with FTWD (unless they just accept it becomes a stop gap for fans between TWD seasons!)

Also did anyone else notice they went into the facility under the cover of darkenss and emerged in daylight? :s

Why did you look here if you didn't want to spoil it?

Not to mention this is the US timeline sub-forum and the episode has aired. If you want to watch in time with the UK then you should either start a topic in the regular section or add to one that is there.

Yea, I noticed that. Was wondering if I missed something. One minute all hell is breaking loose, next minute they pop out the building, it is day time and not a whisper. How long were they in the building for???

I even recall the chopper scene where it left without rescuing the dr, it was night time, not so long after they left the building to day time.

The transition to almost full daylight was a bit sudden - like a fair few things not very well handled - it had been night for quite awhile though.

The walkers toppling the guard tower didn't seem plausible. I can't work out how they would manage to do that.

Yeah I thought that too, a scissor lift has anchoring points at all 4 corners so to topple it that quickly you'd have had to exert a large amount of force from the top third for it to budge. That said I'm being pedantic, those two up there were always going to die.

anyway only 6 days til the real action returns legitimately to the UK :D

Was it not because It was not a proper guard tower. It was one those mobile lifts that they use to get upon high, similarly to the ones the telephone and electrical company uses to get on the masts and lights.

I was thinking they are done for if they dont get down because a few rocks and that thing will collapse?
