FIFA World Cup 2014 - GROUP D [Uruguay, Costa Rica, England, Italy - 14/19/20/24 June] **spoilers**

I've been a die hard England fan since Mexico 86. A little bit of me died when they gave Roy the job but i cant see any manager sorting this lot out.

I liked Hoddle and Venables but both got the sack for non football reasons.

Word of advice, sonny gets ignored a lot on here because he talks crap. He also has a hatred for the English and comes in to wind people up normally during the big games of England/English teams.

Just finished watching it. Few quick points;

- Referee is a disgrace. How Godin never got sent off is nothing short of a joke, you won't see two more blatant yellow cards in a game of football in your life. Every person on this planet, bar the referee, thinks the cynical challenge on Sturridge is a yellow.

- Sturridge can't hold his pants up.

- Their 1st goal, 3 players around one player, and not a single challenge to stop the ball on the edge of the box is beyond schoolboy football.

- Their 2nd goal... LOL. Can't say anymore than that.

We aren't good enough, and will likely finish bottom of the group. ******* ****.

Still... better than being Spain I guess. Least our expectations were low.

As usual Rooney will probably take plaudits for scoring though, despite the fact he missed everything except for that goal. No doubt he'll be hyped and then return to being disappointing.

The only people who hype Rooney are the press and idiots who believe them.

It's the same every tournament. Every single tournament. Beckham has had it, Scholes, Robson, Gerrard and Lampard, Bobby Robson, John Barnes, Kevin Keegan. the list goes on and on. In the after math, the press will have their little phone ins and sunday morning supplements, be all smug and say it wasn't them did the hyping its ******

That's the way Hodgson plays football. We were shocking while he was at Liverpool and he's been shocking for England. Cahill and Jagielka are perfectly capable of playing it out from the back as they've proven all season for their clubs but in this team....

One Direction are lucky he's not one of their members or they'd be called No Direction.

The nucleus of a decent side is there, a little ropy in defense certainly but with Sturridge, Sterling, Henderson, Barkley, Shaw and a few others with the right manager there is every possiblibilty of a team that plays exciting football.

Woy was never the right man for the job, get rid and get a forward thinking progressive manager in with the goal of a decent showing at 2018.
