The games ok. I don't find it does anything to really stand out or shine for me, I spend most time wishing I was on dota2 
If it was f2p if stick with it and I'll certainly play the 30 days and see if I can get into it more but just feels a little run of the mill for me so far.

I havn't had chance to play for about a week, been really busy, and spent the weekend in London for the NFL! too! - will be back on this tonight though!

The game's not really gripping me at the moment so I probably wont play past the free 30 days. I went on the airship yesterday and then got the quest for my first dungeon - Sastasha Seagrot. I was in the queue for 45 mins and nothing by the time I logged off, am I doing something wrong? I did ask on the FC (Wind on Odin) if anyone wanted to do it but everyone said it was pants and full of negative hate. Do I need to complete this dungeon to carry on with the main story? I've got about 20 days left so I'll keep having a dabble but it's back to metro last light tonight.
What you're doing wrong is you're playing a DPS character and expecting to get in via a queue system with 1000s of other DPS characters. Either make your own party or ask your FC. Given that your FC doesn't seem interested either find a new FC or go back to making a party.

Like the above has mentioned, DPS classes are hard to get in with good time. mainly due to there being 1000's of other DPS and fewer tanks/healers.
I play Tank and I'm in your FC - I'll gladly help you out in this instance tonight if you are on? I should be home around 5pm or so. I havn't been on for a couple of days as i've been busy so I would have missed your shout out!
For future, the best thing to do in the duty finder, is add yourself in, then go off and do some other things, like FATEs or crafting
that way you arent wasting time idling around. I'll gladly tank any dungeon I can for you, however! Name is Tom Brady

I'm going to ask a really stupid question now
I'm used to there being some general chitter-chatter when you are in any given zone but it's kind of quiet, is there no 'general' chat channel for the zone you're in?
The "general" zone chat is shout (or /sh for short) in FFXIV. I only really use it for looking for groups, it's just Barren's level chat otherwise.

Sorry Zom - I fell asleep on the sofa at 8:30pm last night - had a hectic Sunday and didn't get back home till 4am, so caught up on sleep last night!

No probs mate. I didn't get on myself till gone 8. I joined the queue and then went and did some levemete quests which were fun. Then just as I was about to log off at 9 to have some quality time with the wife I was invited to a party. I'll try again tonight though and if I need help I might have to give you a shout.

Yep there is a Free Company called WIND on Odin. Lots of OcUK players on there.
