Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Reborn

I've created another character on Odin, a tank this time, wouldn't mind an invite please when someone is available, should be on tonight as 'Inquis Darkseed' :)

Is this quite a casual friendly mmo? I'm looking for something with quite a rich storyline and a good choice of character customisation yet a game where I can play pretty casually. It seems more social than a lot of MMOs which can only be a good thing.
 
ok so ive logged on and now my character wont show, i log into mog station and my charcter on Odin is greyed out whilst the other chars on different servers show?

Edit: EU servers are down?
 
I currently have my character showing, but get 1017 when trying to log in. I'm on Lich, and was logged in but got disconnected. Just trying to reconnect.

You can certainly customise your character a hell of a lot, i was very surprised by how much you could do! You can also Dye the colour of your armours too to make them all match etc. Not actually tried it yet mind but I like the idea.


I play it quite casually and am enjoying it quite a lot :) I normally log on every few days for a couple of hours and level a bit, do some crafting, some storyline.
However, the game makes me wish I had more time ^^

Can't comment for end game though im afraid! I've got two characters on two different servers both around the 25ish level. So I'm just starting to experience new content after levelling again :)
 
I'm getting my relic right now (a super good weapon each class has a quest to get), have been max for ~ a week but my friends have been max for ~ 3. A rough summary of endgame is:

Boss: Ifrit hardmode is easy and you get a decent weapon from it
Speedrun instances for badges (which allow you to buy darklight gear - high quality max level stuff) at the same time and getting your relic quest started.
Somewhere around here you do relic sub-bosses Chimera (Tough for idiots, crap party requirements which force a bard basically - also non-instanced which sucks) and Hydra (pushover).
Boss: Garuda hardmode is fairly tough but can be done without much darklight
Boss: Titan hardmore requires a lot of darklight and praying to the lag gods of the transatlantic pipes

After this is the current last raid, binding coil. This has steep entry requirements and you need teamwork. Full darklight + relic type requirements.

Casual endgame will include instances, ifrit, garuda and eventually titan I'd guess.
