First PC Build - Warning, thread will have blunders.

Found it!
Thanks again guys for all of your help. It's been very valuable!

One last question before I stop bothering everyone! I've got my windows set up on the SSD, is it possible though to have 'my documents' 'my pcitrues' etc to be on my HDD?

Glad to see things are going smoothly to date (idle/slight load temps are good within BIOS so hopefully no paste issues) - you know you're going to have to gratify @orbitalwalsh's fetish for pics as payment.

More pics.. hahaha

Key thing is it's running . Once you've installed programs and drivers, and let Gigabyte app center update its apps. Then you can go onto bios and enable XMP etc

Also, just anning to install steam, where should I aim to install all my programs? On the SSD or on the HDD?

XMP enables your speed to run at manufactures setting and not basic slow default speed

How big was your SSD again ? You can also move game stores on steam now . Have program and few games on SSD, then install larger less popular games on hdd

Oh right okay, do I literally just go into bios and click enabled? Simple as that?

500gb. So all program files should go on SSD and most played games, gotcha

Sorry to bug again! Is this all I need to do for XMP? Literally just enable it in BIOS?

I've downloaded the motherboard drivers so that should all be good now, app centre is downloaded but I'm not quite sure what on there will benefit me!

Is there anything else you'd suggest to do before all is good? What is that program which measures temps, is it CPU-Z? Can't remember the exact name

Cpuz , gpuz, hwmonitor

Go into BIOS and enable XMP then exit .

App center should update all its apps for you which is nice. Half are junk so can always delete them afterwards

In CPU-Z, DRAM freq is showing as 1599mhz. Is ram something that jumps up when it needs to?

DDR stands for double data , so you just times that speed by two :)

And HWMonitor is showing CPU temp at 36. Only things that are happening are lots of downloading at the moment. Seems a bit high

Idle maybe a bit high but it's seen the temp when it's stressed is the key to seeing if mount is good
