Folding@Home Weekly Team News - 15th June 2006

He's founded and heads another team, but his contribution here is enough to make up for that i think ;)

I'll change the font then. I used it because i think it looks nice and friendly but we can't have people getting sore eyes over it.

I'm just folding for the team I founded just about a year ago. We stomped OcUK about four months ago and are currently in 33rd place. :p

Why don't we merge both the teams :D
It will stop the OCUK performance problem and your team will gain some extra points to

We may even get some new forum members :)

Can't really merge teams. Wouldn't work anyway.

We have plenty of our own members and i'm confident that this team will stomp hack a day in the future ;)

I've nuked the comic sans and i think it looks absolutely terrible.

By merging i mean getting there members to sign up to team 10 :D

They would say 'no, you sign up to ours' and that would be the end of that ;)

Its easier to get people in the gd to join up i think.

I put it back to comic sans. It just doesn't look right in anything else. Its supposed to look friendly and easy to read but if you think its a problem i can put it back to the default. I find it looks more managable in comic sans but in the default it looks like an overwhelming large block of text.

Thats a point. never thought of doing a gh one.

The next one will be the poll with the folding myths, and i think that one would be more suited to the gd. I or someone else can devise one for the gh if you like...

You need to be careful not to oversaturate your target audience, sir.
Absolutely.
It was suggested that the poll should be posted immediately, and i said no because people will get sick of hearing about it. I intend to leave a good gap between each one and they won't happen at regular intervals, but only when they are needed.

Edit: avatar change. ;)

I think the wait between each pimp thread is a good idea :)
They lose impact if they come up to often.
Think this one was a good sucess quite a few new members compared to normal.

Might also be interesting/worth bringing up folding in #overclockers-uk.
Could ask if people reckon they've got a good PC and dare people that don't fold to have drag races to see if they can out-process some of us :D

edit: oh and we need more ppl in #Team-OcUK :p

Damn an FX-60!?

Looks like number one slot is not gonna happen for me in the single crunchers league :(

Reckon anyone would have an FX-60 going in the give away sticky :D

At the end of the SETI@Home "classic" project OcUK were ranked 1st after some ajustments due to cheating[1].
