Just ordered a 9800GT green aswell to go in this system so I should be able to contribute that bit more. I dunno how much PPD they do but I wouldn't be suprised if it does more then my 5870 until gpu3 comes out at least.

Should never have sold my 260 :(

My 9800GT Greens do about 4-4.5K PPD depending on work unit crunched

Check this out for a games setup:

dsc0307ib.jpg

In this set-up all four GTX285's are claimed to run@x16

Wonder what it would put up @ folding if 4xGTX295's were used.

77,380 PPD is the highest recorded performing single rig with 4 X GTX295's in it.

Although thats 8 GPU clients and 2 SMP Windows clients.

I might be able to beat that with the Linux clients, although our spec is similar his is a bit different, enough to affect the outcome? Maybe :)

His spec:

1. Mother board : ASUS P6T7 Supercomputer.
2. CPU : i7 950
3. RAM : 4GB
4. O/S : Windows XP 32 bit
5. GPU : 4 Colorful GTX 295s (8 GPU)
6. PSU : Thermaltake Toughpower 1,500W
7. Case : Thermaltake ARMOR+
8. Cooler : Koolance Exos 2.5(3x120mm Fan & Radiater) and 4 GTX 295S water blocks.
9. GPU Over Clock : Core Clock = 720MHz, Temperature = 52 ~ 60°C

Very nice set-up.

Looking forward to your build log.

Oh, that was the other thing: not many cases can handle 4xdual slot Graphics Cards and even less with dual PSU support.

You should be able to beat that relitavely easily:

A decently clocked i7 using 3 cores(6wHT) i'd guess would net ~10kppd [based on my q9450 getting 5k using 3 and a bit cores @ 3.6Ghz] leaving the other free for the gpu clients

GTX295s are realativley easy to clock, especially if you oc the core speed less than the shaders - mine runs up to 680/1620 (from 575/1242) - it'll only do 702/1548 if the core is upped tho.
Even running 1888pt units, each core can chuck out over 8k ppd at that speed. Running the 353 or 787 units then each core will reach 9.5k ppd

That gives 74kppd if all 8 are running 1888 pointers and the cpu is outputting 10k.
Up to 86k ppd if they're all running the little units.
