Football in Manchester

I live in Leicester and support Newcastle Utd as I was born there and the rest of my family are supporters. I only get to watch 1 maybe 2 matches a season at a push as it's too damn expensive to watch anymore due to the distances involved.

I could go and watch Hinckley Utd play as they are about 5 minutes away from my house, but right now there are more important things I need to spend money on than paying to watch football.

I hate all this "you must support your local team." Nobody has to do anything they do not wish, the same with only supporting the team from where you are born/live. My best mate is an Arsenal supporter, he's been following them since he was a kid as his dad and his granddad are supporters. He doesn't live in London and like me very rarely gets to see matches live due to cost.

Jeff, you are talking utter ******* I'm afraid.

You can't make that kind of judgement because Mr Vague hasn't said what level he played at. You'd have to go down four leagues at least until you found players playing for the love of it. Any higher and he'd be an absolute mug.

Everyone here knows who I played for.
Apart from you, but seeing as you are not a real football fan, thats only to be expected.
:o ;)

Not a real football fan? Sorry I couldn't answer you sooner, I've just been down to see my team play away in the FA Cup. I ran a supporters coach too ;)

The word on the street now is that FCUM want to play at Hyde's ground. Talk about jumping in their grave!

Well done, you win 10 man points. Now bugger off back down your hole and come back when another team mismanages their finances, for you to cry about the big, well managed clubs to be doing well financially.

Who did you play for?

I'm sorry I have no idea, was it at a good level?

Well done, I've just been to watch my football team slug it out live as well, do I become more of a fan for that?

Tell you what, stop posting, because the garbage you're coming out with is embarrassing for you, and other lower league football fans.

Tummy, maybe you'd be kind enough to point out what garbage I'm coming out with?

I support my team and do what I can to help and get rather disappointed seeing how so many local football fans won't come and watch their local team, we could do with their money.

Did you bother to read my long post earlier? I do support my local team, I also am a fan of several others, I was part of a very low league club as well, it ****s me off that people like you automatically think that all football fans know nothing and just follow the big four.

There are people on here, and people who do support local football teams, your judging all football fans because they don't come and support your local team. Lots of local teams do fairly well, you don't see them dropping like flies.

Maybe, if you're so involved with your club, you should go and tell them to sort the books out. Football is a business, if your failing nobody should / will bail you out.

Sadly Tummy your perception and those of many others about my input in this thread has become distorted because the majority are settee dwelling, all mouth no action "supporters" whose connection with the club they profess to love goes no further than the replica shirt on thier back and their Sky subscription.

Clubs like Hyde will always suffer but now that the HMRC have done them expect others to follow, but when a club that people have heard of goes to the wall the reaction will be different.

Shut up, really.

I have a season ticket to Sufc, even though I work rotas, so only really get to see half of the games. And I also go to see Arsenal on the rare occasion (Lack of money + hard to get a ticket).

And what the hell does it matter if people on here are "settee dwellers"? That's their prerogative. And it isn't for YOU to tell them they are in the wrong. Now like I said earlier, bugger off back into your hole. Your constant whining about the same damn things is getting ridiculously boring now.

It matters because they call themselves fans but wouldn't know the inside of a football ground if they woke up in one.

But whether they go or not, has NOTHING whatsoever to do with you.

What if they really love the club like they say, but can't afford it, not even one ticket? Does their lack of cash make them less of a fan? No it does not. And if you think it does, you have more problems than I thought.

Explain my problems to me then Dr Football, cos I think that makes them less of a fan.

Your biggest problem is that your head seems to be stuck up your ****.

quoted for truth. You've had enough people calling you out in this thread and as far as I can see, not a single person backing you up.
