Football manager 2016

Transferred Sheff Wed save over to gaming pc for over christmas :) Can add some more leagues now.

Also, look at this beast, £6.5m! Bargain ! Unfortunately, no transfer budget left :(

Also, quick question regarding adding leagues. What differences does it make? I've added more leagues and tried to find some more scouts, but only staff coming up are still only from english clubs?

Most of the leagues are on 'pending 7/7/19' for example, which is a year in the future or so. Will the effects take place at that point?

Yup, that's when they'll be added.

Apart from potentially being able to manage in the new leagues, you'll also get more players. There's plenty of talent in countries like Romania, Croatia, Egypt etc that won't be in your game if you don't have the relevant leagues loaded. It's particularly useful if you're playing in the lower leagues because you can get some good players for a fraction of what an equivalent in a big league would cost.

ok cool, :) I've been using my gf's laptop while away from home for the past few weeks, hence why I've not got any leagues loaded other than England :( I assume at this point more staff from these extra countries will also become available?

20 played 4th, 3 points off top on my Wimbledon save.

Thank you for the tip helped a lot re conceding goals, I haven't used stay back instruction instead used a stopper/cover CB combo which seems to have done the trick :)

Does FM16 include the touch version? Or is it an additional purchase?

Any difference between retail and activating code via steam or buying a CD key and activating via steam?

Yes the full PC version includes the Touch version, and no, I've bought the retail version this year and its just a code in a box to activate on steam, the supplied DVD is only for quicker installation otherwise it's the same :)

Trying to pay more attention to my U18 squad at the moment, how many players do you have in the squad? I'm worried mine has become too bloated with crap potential whilst obviously I want some for rotation.

You have to play a touch version of the game on your PC, where you can use a mouse. Personally I found it pants compared to the full version.

Oh. Maybe I misunderstood then. I thought you could play the full version on Pc and pick it up where you left off on the touch version on your tablet and resume on your PC etc. :(

Oh well. Nm still looking to buy it :p

First season with Sheffield Wednesday - won the Championship.
Second season with Sheffield Wednesday - won the Premier league and the League Cup.

#easy

Struggling to start a Manchester United save, the squad is weak, the coaching is average, I actually want 'more' money.

Can easily raise money through selling Rooney (25), Smalling (20), Valencia (5), Valdes (1.5), Carrick (3.5), and giving Failani away.

Still feel like I need more money and time with the squad before the season starts.

I feel your pain because when i first started a new save with United the Defence was really bad for me at the start because Shaw, Jones and Smalling all got injured before the start of the season and i had very little cover for them. The first thing i did to get some cash in sell Rooney (never done well for me in any of the other versions of the game), Valdes, Fellaini and Carrick which also drops the wage budget down can be used to put more money into transfer kitty.

Keep Marital as your main striker as he becomes one of the best later on, i got Bernardo Silva for right winger which he will become world class in a few seasons down the road and has a £21.5 million release clause in his contract so that's a very good deal in my opinion, if you want to get rid of Mata to get some more money into the bank then sell him and replace him with Hirving Lozano (£17.5M Region) who is a left winger but also has the potential to become a world beater when he gets good and move Depay behind the forward and you have a very young attacking pairing in all four of them which i would give them time to mature together so they will become untouchable later on in your game.

I would leave the midfield as it is but if you need more cover i would try and buy Youri Tielemans (£24M Region) or Abdelhak Nouri (£16.5M Region) who both become world class when they get older and give him some games to get better like in the FA Cup, Capital Cup and against the lower teams and if you need also need another backup for CAM/Striker role then look at Kuki (£4.9M Region) who is only 17 which i am putting my faith in and hoping he becomes good but if not i can develop him into a decent player for later on in the game and sell him on for a very good profit.

Regarding coaching staff this is what i did to mine but i am not sure if your playing the full game or classic/touch mode, before i forget i wouldn't sell Smalling as there isn't much better then him out there for a decent price, i would just stick Shaw, Smalling, Jones, Darmian as it is a good defence to start of with.

I hope this can help you out finding some bargains for the future.

26 games in 2nd with my Wimbledon team.

Few issues at the mo. First choice and second choice RB out, LB out (let my loan back up go :p) 2 first choice CB out. Can't really field a defence but when my tactic is "nah nah I'll score more than you" it isn't hurting me too bad.

My striker Lyle Taylor has 24 goals in 26 games, my AMR got about 15 then the rest of midfield all have 5+ so sharing the goals around.

Biggest problem is budget, if I do manage promotion it will murder me in league one.

I'm in first place in the Champs in my 2023 season with Nuneaton! Might finally get into the Premiership after all this time. Been a difficult ride. I have a 5000 capacity stadium

Coming towards the end of my first full season with Sheffield Wednesday in the championship. 7 games left to play, and it is very, very close :D

Currently 3rd down to 12th are all covered by 6 points, with myself sat in 4th at the moment. 1st Reading 68 points, 2nd Derby 66 points, 3rd Nottm Forest 63 points. S'going to be a crazy run in. Also, currently in 5th? Sheffield United. Lovely :p

Board expectation was finish in top half, and season preview had me finishing in 13th :)

Played one more game against Norwich away (who are about 14th I think, and lost Away, again )

Current record - Home - 42 points in 20 matches, best in the league by 2 points, Away form - 18th in the league, 20 points from 20 matches. Very, very annoying.

Woohoo won the league 2 with Wimbledon, won 1-0 last game of the season to secure the league.

I actually secured promotion with 4 games left then playing the same tactics my team obviously decided holidays had started and I lost 5-1, 4-1, 3-0 before winning 1-0 and securing league.

Next season in league one will be brutal, my wage budget has only been increased by 8k and I'm gong up a blinking league :p no transfer budget either, wheeler dealer time!

I wish AI would be more flexible when making bids for players, 9times out of 10 it's a non negotiable low price it's so hard to get the money that players are worth. For example I have a very good young english LB who was moaning to leave, MV is 1.8m, great stats showing as 4* potential but I can only get offers of 1.3m..then he will complain even more because I reject these stupidly low offers. In real life he would probably sell for 20m lol

edit: I lower the asking price to match their previous bid, and they offer 875k?! Seems like it's programmed to offer a certain percentage of what you ask for

What division you going up to? If you're heading up to League One or the Championship, this is where having a senior affiliated club can become useful. Also, those 17/18 yr old starlets that the EPL teams haven't wanted to loan out yet can become available before the day of transfers (30th June).

Depending on how big your database is, you can sometimes get decent Dutch loanees in on zero wage contribution.

I've played FM/CM religiously for about 18 years but due to work and renovating flat I've not had the chance to play FM16... until now. Have emailed my employee to tell him we'll be starting work at 12pm today (and finishing at 2.30pm!). Now to crack on with my heavily edited Brentford save :D

1 more game to play in the season, currently sat 7th. 4 teams can win the league, although only the top 8 can get into the playoffs. I'm currently sat 7th, and I play 8th..

Let's see how this goes.. :p

And my best player is injured for 4-5 weeks..****! Injection'ed Get on the pitch, lad :p

EDIT: 1-0 Win to take us into 6th and a play-off position. I had 4 shots, scored 1 goal, Fulham had 27 shots, scored 0 :)

Going into league one. So I've scouted a load of players who are ending contract who I hope to add (realistically need a CB, LB, CM, AML, CF and some back up that's if I get my loaners back as well!) so just got to hope I can tempt them in.

I normally go down the route of free's to build my squad then loaners to fill out the blanks if I can't get the right players in.

In fm15 the above got me to the prem with Gareshead (spent 50k in total moving up all divisions) so hoping for the same. Really need to add loads though so a wer bit worried!

Regarding affiliation, can you approach a club and ask?

In actually hoping for some summer investment as my chairman is retiring so hoping that means someone might buy up the club and give me some cash to spend. Not so much bothered about transfer fee's as I'm confident getting the right players on a free it's more the wages I need to tempt them in.
