Football manager 2016

Couldn't be arsed to download all the faces again just copied from 2015 and they work fine. Updated kits though from the page linked above

I bought it yesterday, played the Beta fine on desktop (see sig). Streamed it to laptop fine and also loaded and played on laptop fine. Exited game for dinner, afterwards laptop would not start it whatsoever, just crashed before getting to splash screen. Desktop still ran it.

SI Games started investigating GeForce experience issues, telling forum users to delete GeForce, then delete nvidia PhysX . It was apparent that it was highly unlikely that GeForce would cause those issues. It had to be a W10 issue.

Obviously everyone is an expert so clearly it was my fault that my laptop wouldn't run it if my desktop would and I should 'sort my drivers out' but the only difference between my Laptop (MSI GS70 Stealth) and desktop (apart from the obvious) is that the laptop is running W10 Pro w/ insider whilst the desktop is on W10 Home. Both were also running 358.50 drivers.

Unfortunatley I just went through the refund route on Steam, I know it's a Beta but like the last 4 iterations, it is not game ready. It should be a closed Beta and the fact that FM15 had no W10 support leads me to think that FM16 may have been rushed onto the OS.

If they release a hotfix I may re-buy it between now and release date but I have a disappointing feeling that it will be like FM15 and 14 where it isn't polished until next Feb.

Really wanted to get on with a decent save but think I'll just have to wait out for a while now, the hour I did get in did look quite good and felt improved on 15.

Lol it was me that reccomended it to neil about removing geforce worked for about a hour then went kaput

They don't seem to be any closer to fixing it looking through the forum on SI. I'm assuming you and I were both on the same thread last night. I honestly think they haven't taken into account W10 all that much.

yeah I wouldnt be suprised, they wasnt bothered about windows 10 when they didnt fix fm 2015 dont advertise the game to work on windows 10 if its not properly been tested, I paid to get the beta and play early. totally understand betas wont run properly or be perfect but when you cant even launch the game without crashing on the same menus. its 2 weeks until the release all this beta is gonna fix is player bugs and match engine which wont be fixed quick. betas should be released months before release to fix it.

every year I feel like im beta testing the game when its released

I stopped playing this in 2007 after playing every version of CM to FM07 till I decided it was less about the addictive football game I used to know and love the one that kept me up for hours at night playing one more match. When it went from a fun game to a spreadsheet with arrows and sliders affecting too strongly the match I left. Put a great squad together and formation that suits them and because some slider was not right you lost game after game unrealistically. Used to play in a clan and enjoyed playing with the other scots lads.

Back on topic if they have not taken Win10 into account then it shows a level of amateurish. :( Last tried this again in Demo think it was FM13 but felt it was just sterile and not the CM game i used to love.

The 3D match engine certainly looks a lot better than it did in 14 - some of the new shooting and diving animations look pretty cool - but there is a long way to go before I'll actually use it over the 2D pitch. The players still look like they're running around on an ice rink and the lack of some key animations (jostling for the ball etc) make it frustrating to watch. I'd much rather have the 2D pitch and imagine what's going on myself.

Thank you, you wonderful people.

Downloaded the latest file :), what do you guys use to unzip things? (clean install)

I use 7-Zip, opens pretty much any .zip .rar file and isn't WinZip which is a bonus.

Yeah they seem to be focusing on sound card drivers now. The issue I had with getting a black screen has been resolved by one user on their forum by mirroring their screen to a different monitor! Thanks, but no thanks, I shan't be mucking about that way.

I said something similar on FM-Base and got told I was having a strop by a 'super-moderator' and he was adamant that SI had worked on W10 during FM15 which is blatantly BS. It just reminded me why I never use FM-Base any more. That and one of the posts within an hour of Beta release was 'can someone upload all the -9/-10 players please' - What the actual **** What is the point in playing the game?

I'm convinced the best thing they can do and should do is take FM12 for example (probably the best FM version since CM) is release the game and instead of releasing a game the following year is just release an official update in the summer and give themselves a full 24 months to perfect a game. Not only are the Betas an absolute mare but I can't recall a version of FM being complete until mid Feb, early Mar every year. Trouble is we all keep going back hoping it has 'finally ironed out the bugs this year'

The creation tool is hilarious!

I haven't watched that through, but is that requesting friendlies with top tier teams and playing at home? If so, I've been using that myself for some time with 15. It doesn't always work mind you, a lot of the larger teams are often too busy.

no it's creating a friendly league every weekend in pre season on Fri / Sat / Sun and choosing largest reputation teams available. As its a mini league the games go on TV so the teams end up with huge sums of money. The youtube vid does it with Mansfield and they play Celtic, Brighton, Liverpool, Southampton etc and make £2 million over 9 games.
